Video Equipment Charity Raffle - $7,500 in prizes - $5 Tickets!!

Excellent. Thank you for all the support! We've just passed the $1,000 mark. I'll need to update the Progress Meter.

:)

AmyO - Please let your friend know that if they're ever in Nong Khai (northeastern Thailand, on the border of Laos), I'd like to meet them and help any way I can. Thanks for your help with this raffle.

Sorry I missed this reply. She shot the doc in 2007 and is now fundraising for post-production funds. She's got a Facebook group going here: The Eyes of Thailand.

Whether I win or not, these raffle tickets are a good deal, in my opinion.

Man this is a great idea for fund raising!!! I already bought some tickets hope u can get that van!!

I'm from Costa Rica and here I do all the videos (for free of course) for an organization called "A Roof for my Country" and I've got really into helping people so I hope you can get all the money you need.

Everyone get tickets!!!!

are there any lotto laws preventing residents from any particular province or state or country from participating?

I know there is a silly quebec law that makes the people running the raffles pay the amount in cash of any giveaways to the government or something similar which is why all canadian raffles always exclude the residents of quebec... anyway, let me know...

im in ontario and would like to buy 20 bucks worth of tickets just to say I did, but would be sad if i wasnt eligible for any prizes. it looks like a great cause though.

Thank you for purchasing more tickets, everyone!

AlphaCarbon - Thanks for checking first. I've never heard of any legitimate charity raffles being scrutinized by authorities. Probably would be a PR nightmare for them. Also, since this raffle is hosted in Thailand, it's even more unlikely they'll make us pay anything. I'd like to see them try. lol

If it makes you feel any better, two other Quebec citizens have already bought tickets.

:)

Thanks again to everyone who has helped with this fund raiser. Looks like we're about to hit the $2,000 mark.

Hm, tried to buy a ticket, but it always said that there was an error and I should check if everything was correct. I did and it said it again and again. I hope I didn't buy as many tickets as I hit "Submit" :D

What could be the problem?

Transaction Failed!
There was an error processing your transaction... Please check that each section of the form was filled out properly and try again.

Somehow can't make a screenshot right now of my filled in Data. Will do that later.

That Happened to me, I gave up, then went to my bank account to look up something and I found out that I had been charged, luckily just once, I was about to report it to PK so that he knew what happened, but I had to go to a shooting and then I forgot....

Anyway, I'm happy that in the end I could provide some money to the good cause...

It could be that the credit card system doesn't handle foreign character sets properly. So if there are any special characters like in the names Iñaki or Höfer then it might cause problems. Just a guess.

A successful transaction should result in a "Transaction Complete" page and then a list of Raffle Ticket Numbers (AC555, RM555, etc.) for you to print out or copy/paste into a text file. If you didn't receive your Raffle Ticket numbers, let me know and I can e-mail them to you.

It hasn't ever happened, but if any one's credit card is charged more than once we will definitely refund the extra amount.

Just purchased a few tickets myself.

It's getting down to the wire.... I'd urge any members that want to get in on this to jump on it.
It's not often you can both help out a great cause AND possibly pick up some great gear.
:)

A few tickets? That was much more than a few. Thanks, Luis!

Charli - Unfortunately, PayPal cannot be incorporated into this raffle system. We had PayPal setup for previous donations but the 4% they took out added up to be a lot. This new system only takes out 1-2% and nobody has to register on PayPal to use it. If you want to use PayPal I'll PM you the information. I'll then manually enter your raffle tickets into the system. Thanks for the help!

I just bought some, I tried to use AOL, when I entered my credit card number it said something about alpha charachters not being allowed, I tried with IE and got a numerical error in the credit card field because I left spaces between each series of 4 numbers.

I had to enter the cc number in without any spaces and t worked, I did hit enter about 10 times during the process but only got one page at the end that showed my raffel ticket numbers so I don't think it billed me 10 times.

Hope this helps PK, could be a problem for some.

DON'T USE SPACES IN THE CREDIT CARD NUMBER FIELD! Spaces register as alpha charachters in a numerical only field.

Thanks, ChipG. I'll edit the form page and mention to leave out the spaces. (Your order went through only once.)
