Video Equipment Charity Raffle - $7,500 in prizes - $5 Tickets!!

So, I know it's not my place to tell or even suggest what people should do with their money...

but if you read this and have yet to buy a raffle ticket - BUY ONE!!

It's a crime that with all those exceptional prizes they are only halfway to their goal. With all those awesome prizes they should be well above the goal, not well under it.

Anyone that has a credit card and reads this please buy a $5 ticket. (If you haven't already). No one will miss $5 off their credit card. At best you win a prize, at worst you help a freakin' great cause.

I have no affiliation to this cause in any way. I just cannot fathom the idea that with all those great donation prizes the meager goal can't be reached.

Lets get them that van!!!!

I bought a few tickets about two weeks ago. Just wanted to say good luck with getting your van and the work you're doing.

Same here got a few tickets a couple of weeks ago. Good luck with the Goal! Come On Peeps!! It's for a great cause, show your support!!

Great Work. Quick question, do the numbers on the raffle tickets correspond to how many tickets have been purchased for that item? For example I have AC528 & 529 - does that indicate there have been 527 others already in it for the item I've selected?

...in doing the quick math on it i believe they would have far exceeded thier goals already if that was the case, so im guessing that the ticket numbers are not in direct correlation to the number of tickets purchased per raffle item.

That is correct, Neil.

tumbleweed - We started the first tickets at 100 (Ex: AC100). When we decided to extend the raffle we backed-up the database and started a new database with the tickets starting at 500 (so there would be no possibility of duplicates).

There's only a few more days left so please tell everyone you know (filmmakers or just friends - the iPod Nano is for anyone!). Just tell your friends not to buy tickets for the items you bought tickets for. lol

Got some more. C'mon guys, if everybody just bought one ticket they would soar past the goal. I know times are tough, but they are tougher in some places than others. There is no reason why they should only be halfway to what they need. THis is a great community. Pitch in and buy a ticket!

Help out these kids and have a chance at some great gear.

Is there an emoticon to make people feel guilty?

Thanks, Jim and tumbleweed. :)

If you visit the page again you'll see that we have reached the $5,000 mark!!! Thanks to everyone for helping spread the word.

It's still possible to reach our goal but we need all of you to help! Please go now and post something in other forums. Send out e-mails to your friends. The clock is ticking.

UPDATE:
We will be having the LIVE ticket drawing on Sunday, June 14th, at 8pm (CST). During that webcast we will be picking the names of the winners and showing you how your donations have made a difference.

Thanks again to everyone who has already bought tickets and to our very generous sponsors for making all of this possible.

I just bought a bunch of tickets. Thank you guys so much for doing this.
I see it as both a joy and a responsibility that I am able to utilize the opportunities I have in America and spread that wealth over to the people who really need it. Raffles like this create a perfect situation for both parties and I hope that the companies you're working with will continue to donate equipment for raffles like this.

I just got an email detailing a few of the things that can be bought with the money we give. It's amazing how much can be done with very little. Even with the economic crunch, we can still afford to sacrifice a few luxuries so that others can have some necessities. Again, thank you everyone for putting this together.

I agree with the above post 100%. I'm glad you guys put together something like this for such a great cause. If I win great, but I'm just really happy to know that the tickets I bought will be able to help those in need.

Keep up the great work and if you have another of these in the future I will be sure to support again. And to all the sponsors who donated for the cause, you guys are great!

Freakin' Eh!!!

Just checked the status and the goal was reached!!

Congratulations to PK and to everyone involved from the companies who generously donated prizes to the people who bought raffle tickets!!! I'm sure a difference will be made.

I don't know PK other than the guy on Dvxuser who is in Thailand trying to make life better for other people (and that he has a pretty good sense of humor). I truly appreciate what he does, and knowing the goal was met is the best part of today! Keep fighting the good fight, we are better people for knowing you and if there's a raffle or fundraiser next year count me in.

what happens is we lost some of our tickets?

I bought 3 tickets on 2 seperate occasions... and I've lost the numbers for one... lol

Staven - Thank you for your kind words. We can't do any of this without help from people like yourself.

That's no problem.

Because of a small glitch in the database, which caused a "few" duplicate tickets to be given out, we have decided to use actual names in the drawing. If you bought three tickets for an item then you will have your name in the hat three times.

You can tune in to watch the live webcast, to hear if you win, or we will contact you after wards and let you know.
