Figure I post some "rules" to get it "official".

  1. Make a movie in the horror genre that is 6 minutes (or less) and does not exceed a hard R rating (if you are unsure, ask first).
  2. Horror can be and is not limited to the following: monster, teen scream, b-movie, supernatural killer, ghost story, doppleganger, Sci-Fi horror, zombie, psychological, found footage, horror comedy, religious...
  3. Same rule as other DVXuser fests 6 minutes and 1 second is a disqualification
  4. DVXuser sanctioned leader is OPTIONAL.
    1. Leaders available at: www.dvxfest.com/leaders
    2. You only have to use the visuals (any included audio is not required)
    3. The use of the leader does NOT count as part of your 6 minutes. Everything else will.
  5. No required element due to time constraints.
  6. You must use original or licensed material in your film. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. DVXuser (or its partners) assumes no liability for copyright violations. We will make a good faith effort to identify any and all copyright violations in submitted entries.

USER Halloween Fest Run Dates​
Shooting dates start now. The dates to make your film are from Sept 27th, 2012 to Oct 30, 2012. The deadline for submission will be Oct 30, 2012, at 11:59 pm Pacific Daylight(?) Time.

Unless we can get Mod help, upload is to youtube or vimeo, paste a link in your movie's thread.

Also since this is a user fest, think of these rules as a constitution which can be ratified.

I started shooting something a couple of days before Sept 27th, but finished shooting it well after that date. Still working on sound and waiting for the score.
Do I qualify for this, or am I out? No worries either way. Cheers.
 
Good job Mobie! I am going to enter for sure. Mike i think it's safe to say you can enter your short, the more the merrier for this fest.
 
Got the release on one of Chris Keaton's screenplays and am building the skeleton crew as of now. Should be able to shoot a week from tomorrow, as it's very short. Pretty much locked the location yesterday.

If anybody is interested in doing any work like composing, graphic/poster design, editorial stuff, let me know. IMDb credit would be received.
 
had some requests to make a sub-forum for the film threads... given the size and that you guys are taking this on as a voluntary endeavor, do you think it is needed?

Maybe, as an alternative, if one of you (that will maintain it) wants to make a master thread that links to all the individual film threads (which can just be posted in this forum) as they are started, I will stick the thread for you.

Just let me know what you want. I'm down either way.
