Hi.

From the CONTETS folder, I´ve only copyed:
VIDEO and AUDIO folders
I didnt copy:
CLIP , ICON , PROXY and VOICE folders

I only got the .MXF files from the VIDEO and AUDIO folders.

Do I also need the .BMP files in the ICON folder?

Is there another way to use the .MXF files without the .BMP files?

Thank's everyone.

It was a bad move. But, if you put the Video and Audio folders into a folder called CONTENTS, you may still be able to use the clips in some systems.

But going forward, copy everything. :) Better, use P2 Viewer to transfer your clips from card to drive or drive to drive.

If you use Adobe CS4 I think you don't need the complete folder. Single mfx files are enough to be usable.

Not sure about earlier versions.

Thank you so for caring.

Nice vibes.

Forgive my ignorance.

---------------------------

I have a Mac Pro with Leopard and I'm using the Final Cut Pro 6.0.5

---------------------------

I've tried a demo of "Calibrated" plug in and I can open the MXF files.
But they are broken.
The image is diveded on smal squares.
And the squares are like a puzzle. All the way around!

---------------------------

My doubt is;
How important are the files on the folders I didnt copy:
(CLIP, ICON, PROXY, VOICE)

Can a MXF file get damadge without the other files from the folders I didnt copy?

Thank's again.

Without the full file structure, ANY NLE would be hard pressed to import the footage. Their support of the format relies on the full file structure being intact. Avid, FCP, Premiere. The only way you can import this footage now is with the aid of third party software. Calibrated is one, but you can also try RAYLIGHT. MXF4QT is the best tool for this, although the price is high. I still recommend it, but know that it is pricy. Try Raylight first.

As mentioned, don't do this again! :)
But I am pretty sure we have done this with SpeedEDIT. The audio didn't automatically come to the timeline with the video clip like usual.
We just had to find the matching file in the audio folder and align them on SpeedEDIT's timeline. Best of luck!

Either version will import MXF files by themselves; the problem will be bringing in the audio with the video.

Just did a quick test; as long as you have the Audio and Video folders in the same folder, CS4 has no problem bringing in both the video and audio. Of course, CS4 doesn't recognize it as a P2 card, so there is no metadata, nor do you see a thumbnail in the Media Browser.

I assume the same would be true of CS3.

Works fine with Vegas/Raylight, too.
