The main problem is that they are both offering the same thing 1080p, and making people think they are two separate things, what a stupid mess. Greedy ba#$&^%$.

again, you make a movie. ps this is nowhere near as bad as ghost rider.
I even got a transformers tatt the other day...
... (speechless...)
I think you might be stealing a few bases to get from this announcement to "greedy ba#$&^%$."
So . . . any time there are competing formats, it's an attempt to screw the consumer?
Right on! Ghost Rider sucked the most ass of any recent film. I saw it at the cinema and almost walked out and that's saying something cause I'm cheap.
Watched Transformers again the other night and liked it even more. I thought, as a whole it really hit the mark. I even got a transformers tatt the other day...
Huh?
Consumers don't want to be in the middle of the war. This should have been flushed out before either format hit the stores. But maybe you are right!
That doesn't make any sense. I don't see how giving consumers more choices is putting them "in the middle of the war." Two competing formats are for sale, and it's the consumer who decides which one will prevail. They're not victims; they're the arbiters.
Not your life, and not because of a .50 can of soda, but what about the folks who spent between $200 and $1000 for a Bluray player. All that money to watch the "New wave of Hi Def video", and all of a sudden, you can't watch the movies you want, because the studios have decided to step in and make your choice for you. It isn't just a matter of wide screen or full screen, you now have to go out and spend another large chunk of change on a different player.
I've wanted it every since I was a baby.
