This must be the dumbest post + racist one I have seen on these boards. First of all when I meant color it did not mean "black" people, it meant "color" which is anything other than white.
I did not say a movie had to have it, but it just seemed odd when I saw the trailer for the first time and did not notice it. Second if you are watching a movie such as Crouching TIger you know that it will be of a certain race so that analogy was beyond idiotic.
Finally as a director a good casting call is part of your job, the world is bigger than just the neighborhood you live in and having diverse talent in your film will make you go a long way. Yes I am still interested in watching this movie , but people take an opinion of mine and put it out of context.
You need to consider your own words before you type them out.
"the world is bigger than just the neighborhood you live in..."
So if the neighborhood you live in has no people of "color", then it's okay not to include them in a film about your neighborhood? I'm thinking you'll say "no". Or maybe you'll reconsider your stance.
I'm Hispanic by the way. My wife is half American/Anglo and Spanish. We always look at each other and roll our eyes whenever the token person of "color" shows up in TV advertising. You are just perpetuating racism with your attitude.
