I loved almost every Pixar movie but I have never seen one in a theater. Probably will wait for TS3 to hit Red Box.

.and then they are like the other two weren't 3d.
Actually the other two films were shown in theaters in 3D a couple months ago. It's fairly easy to convert a CGI film into 3D as the 3D information already exists in the computer, you just have to render it twice, once for each eye perspective.
aah yeah but I meant when they orginally came out .
I must say the "3d effect " wasnt really that prominent in TS3.
They showed the Last Airbender trailor and that look and felt like 3d . Strange thought it looked better than AVATAR ooooh there's an irony here somewhere .:2vrolijk_08:
When did that happen? There were at least five or six moments like that in Avatar.Filmmakers have gotten over the poke your eye out 3D effect, are are just using it to create depth into the screen, which to me is the proper way to use it.
Then I guess we should expect it to do at least as well, at the box office![]()

Was that the one with the subjective extreme close up of Giovanni Ribisi's face and index finger pointing right at the camera, or was it one of the others?Five or six? I guess it's subjective but I only noticed one, and it was fairly mild...
...there was a lot of emphasis during production on the use of the effect for depth, rather than crap-flying-in-yer-face-type gags...
Could be the theaters fault perhaps !?

Believe me, Avatar is filled with poking.
I noticed none, and actually made a note of it at the time I saw the film. There may have been cases of stuff relative to other things in the background being more in the forefront, but the old COMIN' AT YA type of stuff, where something breaks the plane of the screen until it appears only inches away from your nose was never done. I remember that stuff from the 80's, like Metalstorm 3D where someone threw a throwing star at the audience. The last time I saw it was in Beowulf, the tip of a sword being thrust at the audience.
