I took a trip recently to Japan (Tokyo, Kyoto) to do some filming for a tour a car shop was putting on for the annual Tokyo Auto Salon.

Here is the link to the finished video:

I'll be posting up the montage on here once I am finished with it!

nice looking stuff.

didn't you have an issue before heading out = or once you arrived?
seem to remember something to that effect.

how'd it work out in the end.
inquiring mind wants to know.

looking forward to the finished piece.

Yeah, I started getting the "auto off T_reel lock" message the first day I arrived out there. I had no choice but to just keep recording, even when I would get the message I would just turn the camera off, turn it back on and record again and hope it wouldn't lock up a second time. A few times it got to the point where I would have to actually fast forward a few seconds and then it would start recording again.

But as for importing the footage (Using a capture camera), I was only able to do like 10 minutes at a time due to the lockups. If I were to hit a point on the tape where the camera locked up during importing, the whole clip would be screwed. The video would play about 25-50% faster, and the audio would stay normal.

Once I kind of figured out a system, getting the footage on wasn't too much of an issue. Just ended up becoming a loooooong process hahaha.

Quick question though that maybe someone may know...

What causes the T_Reel Lock error? Is it the heads? or something else in the tape transport? Reason I ask is my warranty on the heads is already up (Past 90 days, but I'm only at 180 hours :() But the warranty for everything else is still good for another 4 months. I'm just worried that it may be something involving the heads, and if it is....well, then I'm screwed.

1'st is awesome, like the third as well. I dunno if i like the cc on the other two though...little to cold for my taste.
