I know everybody has different opinions on here, so I was just curious as to what each person would pick for themselves instead of what they would choose for everyone else. With all the different experience levels and varied reasons for shooting, I thought it would be an interesting experiment.
Let's say you start with your 7d/60d/t3i and a kit lens - That's all you have.
You have $5000 to spend on equipment and such (no renting,) then you have to start shooting. (You can't sell your camera!)
What do you get, and why?
(Remember this is specific to you!)
EDIT:
You are not actually on a desert island. You are fitting your normal shooting style into this same starting point. This experiment is only for equipment, so don't worry about post-production, crew, actors, or marketing - it's just about what equipment you would get if this was your starting point.
So if you normally shoot commercials with a 4 person crew, start with that. If you are an event videographer with no crew, factor that into decision making.
