Congrats im just fixing up some sound atmos issues here and there fx etc - can't wait to see yours mate and welcome to the contest! Ive been really slow saying yo to folks in there threads!

Thanks! I know what you mean. I had to hit a lot of my audio with Izotope last night (forgot to turn off my super loud AC in a lot of the scenes). Thanks for stopping by my thread to say hello. Which film are you working on? I've been trying to visit everyone's thread as well. I can't wait to see all of the films. :)

Thanks! Well my first real fictional film. I did one when I first got the camera but I was just testing my new fancy camera. I didn't learn much, other than I was bad at making fictional films. hahahahaha All my other attempts, I could never get cast for. But I have done documentaries since then, but that's not like fictional films at all. :)

I liked the way this looked and most the performances were really well done. I'm not sure what was mailed to the one girl that was so shocking? Not sure if the writer sent it, since it looks like she was just sending donations. I get she hates herself and is projecting that on others, but what the hell is in the damned box?

Thanks! Yes she was sending what she told her girlfriend were donations at the end, however it was also the same character working with the box in the middle of the film. Whatever is in the box is horrible. I could have put anything gruesome in the box and showed it to you but I really didn't think it was necessary. I did have the three actors come up with what's in the box so I really don't know what they were reacting to. But what I was attempting to capture was that she sent something horrible to hurt someone else. :)

*Spoilers*


First of all, it's well ACTED. Dialogue very natural off the tongue. Characters very believable except for the one angry girl who was over the top. The whole in-her-head scenario in the laundry mat just threw me off, had no idea what the hey was going on. She's upset she can't be open about her alternative lifestyle? If I'm having to ask, then it didn't quite make sense. The whole thing in the box just made no sense at all to me. One minute she has blood, next minute she doesn't, yes, probably all in her head. I think that's when I writer gets too clever.

Huge props for the two female actors who acted as though they were on an actual production for TV or something. You could not tell this was an amateur film by them. Male actor did well also. So be sure to really thank those two girls in the beginning for making it "real." Was it a thriller? I felt more confused then tense. That's where I think the film fell short.
 
I could really get into this. That girl whilst I thought got a little over the top at times, was freaky. The ending could have had a lot more punch.

I think you experimented well with style, but not so much that it took over. Well done again on your first entry.

Thanks Noel! In retrospect, I think I could have picked an easier subject for my first try as well. :) But hey, I went for it.

Thank you! I was actually thinking about quitting (not filmmaking, just fictional films. I've been making documentaries since 2002 and love it). hahahahaha But I feel if I'm to continue, I really need to get a hold of some of the basics better as far as shots. Any other gripes for me are subjective and I can only say, there is no telling what I'll create and I like that. Either people will like it or not. But I would like to master the tried and true basics. What I've been looking at with entries is just technique and storytelling and I'm certainly learning a lot from this.
