The World Cup starts today!

[Mike Harvey]

I actually feel a bit scared for the North Korean coach... apparently the Dear Leader felt so confident after the Brazil game that the 7-0 loss was carried live. Methinks the Dear Leader probably doesn't like having that humiliation carried live for all of North Korea to see uninterrupted.

Of course, he really has no one to blame but himself... North Korean Soccer Coach Talks to 'Dear Leader' Via Invisible Phone

I think so far so good, I was not expecting much from Italy and France, I'm uber happy for the South American teams, especially for Uruguay for such a comeback!

I hope in a few hours we´ll get something like this again: http://www.vimeo.com/12615301 fish and chips vs bratwurst, always a classic with a lot of emotions...

My crystal ball says nay.

They gonna loose against England and drop out.

Told you.

Sometimes you have to have a little faith.

Noticed a distinct lack of England Flags sticking out of car windows this morning :crybaby::laugh:
Glad really, the media hysteria was getting a bit much.
Mind you the ref really does need new glasses.
As far as footie is concerned I can take it or leave it.

The lines men too.
Too bad, this could have been a completely different match from there.

Same thing with Italy's goal against Slovakia.

Now Capello has to face the music: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...2010/3032175/Its-time-Fabio-Capello-went.html

Oh yeah!! After the 4:1 win over England we just destroyed Argentina with 4:0 :beer: Outstanding!

Next is probably Spain. Will see how they play against Paraguay.

[Postmaster]

Yeah and some guys take that pretty serious.

Yep, state of emergency after the game in the cities. Glad I watched at home this time. Last time no trains and busses were driving and the streets were shut down, because of too many fans.

I was profoundly shocked when I read this new prediction of "Paul" about a victory of spain . But luckily its a fake. His prediction is gonna start tomorrow: http://spain.worldcupblog.org/world...topus-oracle-predicts-spain-win-in-semis.html

[ilauzirika]

hopefully germany will win, that way, here in spain, all the media will stop talking about the world championship......

Haha..., dream on. But, for sure, I understand that it ticks you off if you´re not so interested in football. But believe me, after a defeat of spain its going to start a pretty heavy + long discussion in your country about the coach, the players, the tactic ...................... etc.

"Football is a simple game; 22 men chase a ball for 90 minutes, and at the end the Germans win."

...true... but in this case the Dutch win.... (check tonight for confirmation)

I´ll keep my fingers crossed for you. The dutch team plays pretty good at the moment. And in Hamburg (HSV) has always been a lot of "Oranje" => van der Vaart, de Jong, Boulahrouz, Joris Mathijsen, Eljero Elia and Ruud van Nistelrooy as well as the coaches Stevens and Jol. So, good luck...
