The World Cup starts today!

It's like watching hockey, but on strong painkillers. It's a slooooooow game.

Edit: On the plus side, I can get up to grab a beer anytime I feel like it without the risk of missing something.:beer:

My sportsteacher in highschool (or the school we have like that) told me that American people like sports with a short span. As examples he explained the typical american sport baseball and american football. I don't know if he's right and I sure don't want to make judgemental statements or something, but I sure do hear his voice in the back of my head :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG).

But like I stated before: I don't like soccer either, partly because it requires getting into that quite long game. And if you don't enjoy that, thats a difficult thing to do.

While in the Netherlands companies make commercials about the typical moment of having take a p*ss, and then you miss that goal. (See below, KPN digitenne commercial.)

Big results for the USA today, earning a draw with England because of a horrific mistake by the Robert Green, the England keeper.
 
Jeeeeez! 500 cars honking their horns, with guys wrapped in German flags bawling and bellowing unholy chorals, cruising around the block like a bunch of sharks.

This first win has been celebrated accordingly over here :) after the (justified) criticism about the coach and players for the first match that was stupidly lost.
I think that now everyone is satisfied of the overall performance; players will be looking forward to summer vacation now.
Just hope they'll keep a low score next week against Argentina :)
