The Tale of The Klitchen Klaws

I have to say that the compression got really annoying in some parts. But nonetheless good film. The flow and pacing was well done. But I hate to say that I got bored with how the interior car shots were. But I have no idea how I would address it since I've never tried lighting the interior of a car. But regardless, once I got into the dialogue it didn't matter. Good job
 
I think this film is a sleeper! I've watched most of the films and I didn't really expect to see any more really good ones, but this one caught me by surprise. I thought the actors did an outstanding job and I thought the cinematography was excellent on some parts and just okay in others. The interior car angles were just okay. If you could have added one or two different angles, like CUs of the sides of their faces from the back seat and CUs from the front or maybe a 45 degree angle from the outside passenger/driver window that would incorporate both actors would have helped as well. Also, the lighting in the car could be toned down (darkened) a bit.

Anyway, the story with the flashbacks was great and so was the monster running in front of the car. Yeah, the monster, when revealed was fake looking, but I think you can fix that in editing by shortening or cutting. Overall, I really enjoyed this piece. You took a simple story and made it believable and scary as well. Nice job.

Thankyou very much for your review! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I knew I wanted to do something simple but fun. I used to drive with friends down these dark roads and have conversations about creepy things happening and always wanted to capture that somehow. Thanks again for watching!
 
The acting and pacing is really good. You also had a handle on the back story account using documented footage and stills. Really well done. I won't comment on the monster. I'm sure others have expressed their thoughts that does not need repeating, but overall a nice, creepy little tale. Most of the shots take place in the car and could have received a dramatic boost with shots mounted outside on the hood. The danger is outside the car and this shot would re-enforce that danger. Very nice. Thanks.
 
This was another film where I felt the nail biting tension when the car had stopped. It had that classic "don't get out of the car you idiot" feel. Very well done.

The film had a nice pace with the editing and camera work. The conversation was interesting to watch (when a lot of times, a conversation in a car can be uninteresting). The lighting in the car had a kind of 'Blair Witch Project' vibe.

I think my favorite shot is near the beginning when the car is driving by and away down the wooded road. Nice use of the black and white (or sepia) to show the 'story' in the past.

Overall, really nice presentation of the theme. Good job!
 
This was a really solid film. Good performances, good shot selections, the sound seemed pretty solid.

The "story" sequence worked well.

The interior lighting was a little funky, but I've seen worse for that kind of scene.

My main complaint is that I think it's just too simple. It needed another twist or at least some more tension at the end to really be effective. Let us think maybe he'll get away. He gets back in the car, but the door won't close. Finally gets it closed, takes off. He's all clear, driving away... then SMASH into a tree. He crawls out of the wrecked car, injured but okay. Looks up to find... the Klitchen Klaws.

Everything was clear and effective in the telling, there just wasn't that much being told.

Really good work though, I look forward to what you do next.
 
Directed by Pat Bohan indeed! I found this to be a hilarious and charming story - it had me giggling a bit (but not 'at it') In fact it was more the kind of ooh... what a fascinating spine chilling little story kinda laugh!

The characters were well enough played, and the story sounded convincing and not unlike the tales (of various creatures) we've heard in our own localities! In Fife - its the attack of the multi-phallus Seagull the size of a Producer's ego! Terrifying!

The actual gorilla suit was damn well hilarious -and yet for that amusing moment it actually gives one a jump! It's all done very well, and i think is a perfect example of a simple campfire story (in the car) told well and with limited resources.

Technical elements could have been improved, but meh, that will only get better, you tied down the fundamentals here (and them pants were tight!) so good job, i was entertained.
