The Small Multiple

Wow, I just finally stumbled on this thread. I love the Title... love it. The poster is great too and the screen shots look great. Can't wait for this one.

Jeremy,

thanks for your support! I'm hoping this one will be a tight little story that really entertains the viewer...and makes them think a bit. :)

Ciao!

This is looking especially awesome! Especially after the above statement. In a generic sense, that's exactly what I hope to achieve as well. Those kinds of stories are some of my favorites.

Also, the title is very interesting. I'm guesing that you have an engineering background?

Well...I don't have an engineering background...but I suppose the writer (Don Riemer) might! To be completely honest I really have no idea what the script is about...it all went right over my head... ;)

In all seriousness though...the script originally fascinated me because it was a "thinker". Of course, considering that is me talking it might not be saying that much! :undecided

A little off topic (but hey, it is my own thread so I can hijack it if I wanna) but I am at the GI Film Festival in Washington, D.C. this weekend for another film of mine. Got to meet some really neat people including Mr. Stephen Baldwin who seemed like a nice fella.

Wow, I also somehow missed this thread. Great grabs and Poster! Looking forward to this one. So many good looking entries this fest.

Hey Simon and Jon...thanks for the compliments!

I totally agree...there are some amazing looking films coming out for this fest! Even the international pieces like "Unzeit" and "Vicis" look really, really impressive!!!

Man, this festival should be getting more publicity than a lot of other "offline" festivals out there! Seriously... I am all for the idea that Mark with Fat Monster Films put out there about taking the Top 10 films and screening them somewhere in L.A.

It would be a great opportunity to get some press coverage and awareness of the amazing quality of product that "DVXUsers" are producing!

Ok. I'll get off my soapbox now... :D

Edit Locked!!!

Edit Locked!!!

The edit is locked!!! Yay! I feel so happy I could just... :nads: ...kick someone in the nuts and throw up the rock sign!

In celebration of getting the edit locked I am going to upload some more pictures from the production! Although there are quite a few effects shots left to create as well as some color correction and general polishing...I have locked the actual edit and sent it off to the Composer and the Sound Designer.

Don't know if I had mentioned this earlier but those two positions are being filled by:

Composer - Herman "The Man" Witkam

Sound Designer - Brad Semenoff (This is the closest I will ever come to competing with the Fat Monster team...by borrowing the Sound Designer from their short...) :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

And now for some pictures...we will start off with something beautiful. A screen grab of our lead actress:

Followed by something ugly...the least flattering shot of me "Directing" I've ever received:

And then of course something creepy...our DP wearing shorts, a dress shirt and a tie...

Does this void our production insurance policy!?

That's it for now! Looking forward to seeing all of the films in this festival...seems to be quite a MASSIVE competition this go around!

Peace out.

I'd say you're going to be much tougher competition than you think. Everything looks great and with Herman's score it's going to be a one-two punch that should be a force to reckon with.

I just hope that I don't ruin it!

I must say it is an honor to work with these two gentlemen!

The work both of them are doing is astounding to me...and humbling that they are willing to work on this film with me.

I can't give anything away just yet but I have heard pieces of what they are doing and it is going to sound...well, you just have to watch it and hear for yourself!

Stumbled here like so many others. The grabs look awesome. Really like the first and third a lot.

And the eye shot looks very cool as well.

yeah, just finding the thread but grabs look great Very much looking forward to this one now.

Was born in Denton, raised in Frisco, parent's have a farm in Denton where I shot part of my first DVXuser fest entry "Shed". Other half was shot in New Orleans just prior to Katrina, so had to finish it in Denton for obvious reasons.

Anyway, from one North Texan whose 1st DVXfest short was shot in Texas to another, hope you fair as well or better than I did first time out

Hey JDS!

No freaking way!!! I was actually born in Denton as well. No one even knows where Denton is usually...that's why when someone asks I just say, "I'm from Dallas." :) Did you live in the area very long? Didn't go to UNT did you!? :D

What are the odds...I have always enjoyed your films and consider you an inspiration with the quality of the stories/writing/directing you bring to every project you do! Seriously...you've got a great talent and I'm glad you have shared it with this community!

So, from a fellow "Dentonite" to another...I will do my best to represent well. :D

Thanks.

Daniel
