The Official "Next Fest" Idea Submission Thread

Is it just me or does revenge seem a little much for a short since you have an act that requires revenge and then the act of revenge, having both in a short sounds like too much and focusing on just one requires exposition to explain the other, seems like it wouldn't be coducive to telling a complete short, which is something some of us (me) have struggled with in the past, just a thought.

I love silentfest, although watching 50 movies with no dialog might drag a bit.
 
Well I meant no audible dialogue. I just thought that it would be quite a challenge, and won't tie you to a specific genre.
 
Voytech, I do love that idea for a fest, would make everyone focus on a different way to tell their story than someone explaining what was happening or having a too long conversation about something.

Why not do a theme-less fest? Just let us do what ever we want? That would be fun.

I apologize if I duplicate but I have not read the whole thread...

How about:

CLASSIC FEST - Films must be shot in 1930's through 1940's style.

Matinee Fest - Films of the 1950's Saturday Matinee series style.

DUB Fest - A series of comedies with dialog put in over mouths moving differently.

'Word' Fest - Films with NO Dialog except ONE WORD strategically placed.

Fest Fest - Films about making films for a fest.

Widget Fest - Films of amazing phoney inventions and their inventors.

MORON Fest - Dumb and Dumber genre films.

Darwin Fest - Films about fake stupid things people do that kill them.
