The Official "Next Fest" Idea Submission Thread

NinjaFest - wait... that would be boring because you wouldn't see anything. Least if it was done right.
 
How about - hurt fest, that could cover a whole range of topics and would subsequently fit right in with the whole lovey dovey valentines day ishh.
 
TragedyFest would be cool. And I vote no for ComedyFest. A whole fest filled with comedies would get old fast... though I suppose some would argue the same point for TragedyFest...
 
I think I could go back and try crime. Tragedy would be fun too. But I'd like to know what this cool idea the mods have. hmm. I'm trying to think of outside the box ideas myself. Hard to think of a good theme.
 
These are great suggestions. keep them coming, and remember... we try to focus on themes rather than genre so that filmmakers can work in the style of their choosing on common subject matter. crime is a good one that has been suggested in the past. might be more appropriate for our summer fest. I see a lot of potential there.
 
FightFest

Something must be defeated, or won, or changed, and the only way is through conflict, battle, or inner strife!
 
CRIMEfest FTW!

How about indigestionFest? (1 or more character must have intense indigestion)

Serious ones:

MockFest (Mockumentaries)
InsightFest (A character reaches a significant self revelation, this is broad and should normally happen ANYWAY in any properly told short film story)
JungFest (Must contain mythological archetypes / the shadow self, etc)
BadFest (An examination of a character on the wrong side of the moral equation and why he/she does these things, basically 'protagonists' like Plainview from There Will Be Blood. Basically stories about 'bad' people)
CheatFest (People trying to game any system, from cards to their careers, to school, to their relationships, the consequences of people who try to get ahead through morally questionable means)
MysteryFest (self explanatory)
PhilanthroFest (Doing good deeds for our fellow man, I threw this in because I realized most my ideas involve people being shi*ty... lol)

And lastly... FESTfest (must involve a festival of some kind)

Second lastly... METAfest (all stories must be about people struggling to produce a film for DVXfest, mockumentary angle is an option)

What is the estimated start of the next fest anyway? Just curious. Does it get announced at the end of monsterfest or is there some other formula dvx has?
