The official "I got my AF100" thread

Got my AF 100 today courtesy of Spec Comm. I could have had it sooner but was away on vacation and requested a 1/3 ship date.

Initial reaction is: glad I don't have to shoot with a DSLR again. The 100 seems like a decent unit though I do long for a "Pro" version with AVC I or AVC U & P2 recording....

Compared to the HVX 200 I bought 5 years ago- the AF 100 is light years ahead.

Got to walk the Dog.....

Looks like mine will ship tomorrow and get here Friday. Hopefully. Ordered the 20mm pancake lens as well. That will be here tomorrow.

And you've got your Voigtlander. Have you bought your candles yet? Represent, Mr. Kahn.

Not yet but very excited to Mr. Green. Thanks for all the help (and for tolerating me when I was a PITA) along the way! It has been very much appreciated!

AF 100 folks are going to want lenses < or = to f 2.0 from what I see. I have the 7-14, 14-42, & the 14-140 lenses for my GF1 and have tried them all out. f4 is nice but ain't going to cut it for serious Shallow DOF. I have a PL adapter and some old Schneider 35 mm cine lenses that are t 2.0. Maybe I have to spend some Large $ on some Schneider Cine Xenars? 22K worth of lenses for a 5 K camera...... and still no zoom.

Suddenly our world needs a fast 5 or 6x wide angle 35 mm format cine zoom. And yes, it needs to be small in size and light in weight and price. Can we have that at the end of the week?

Mine arrived from Spec-Comm today. Had never dealt with them before and found it a pleasure. Thanks for your help Jasmine!

And thanks to Jan and Barry for the book coupon! Can't wait for that to get here.

Unfortunately, I'm in a major deadline crunch so will have to wait to fully appreciate my new toy. Grrr. Did manage to unpack and at least start charging the battery. Oh the temptation...

Good evening everyone. Just got to play with the camera for the first time today (it arrived Wednesday) and something is concerning me. I am using an Olympus 4/3 zoom with the Panasonic adaptor and when I go from telephoto to wide the lens makes awful clicking sounds about halfway through. I have everything set to manual and it only happens when the camera is powered up. Any answers or suggests would be GREATLY appreciated! Oh, and I apologize in advance if this has already been addressed.

Other than that, lovin' it so far!

Basically, im having a hard time getting a nice white on the LCD screen. my 3200k preset makes everything look a tad yellow/green on the LCD, but fine through the EVF. I'm going to run some tests with daylight and tungsten... This is going to keep me from sleeping...

We just got ours today. Ordered it from Shawn at Full Compass, and he was unbelievably helpful. If anyone is looking to order any gear I definitely recommend him.

Won't be able to use it until next week because I'm shooting a short this week, but I'm looking forward to using it.

Zaza, do you have an external monitor, if so try it out and see if you are getting the green tint on the LCD screen. It's really annoying.

This is exactly what my eyes are seeing

Have you run bars to the AF100 lcd to calibrate it? If the marshall has a clean image and the af has a green cast… that would be my first to check / correct.

Hooked up the SmallHD...and everything looks fine.

All you can calibrate is Brightness, contrast, and color (saturation).. Doesn't seem to have any other options.

What do you guys think?
