And may I ask who is your dealer, and when did you order? My dealer just called and let me know mine is on it's way from Panasonic =)
Hi i am new to this forum, i pre ordered my af100 from BH on the 22nd of November my order status still says back-ordered and i haven't received any emails from them, i was really hoping to get it someday this week. what do you guys think any one ordered as late as i did and still got a tracking number?
I ordered mine from B & H, late, admittedly Dec. 15, made inquiries this morning
and received this from one of their sales persons.
SO they will have my $ 5000 for three months +
Not cool what so ever, when I placed my order 2-4 weeks delivery time was stated.
That was the basis for my order.
think I will have to do some emailing to B & H
SJr
I am pretty sure no one that ordered late will receive an AF100. 1. due to the high demand & 2. the fact that Panasonic only shipped 400 units for the entire US this shipment. The next shipment is expected to to ship in March of 2011.
The problem is that camera houses are not telling you this, they just want to guaranty your deposit. From what I understand is that B&H ordered around 400 units themselves and only received 65. The other 335 units were dispersed through out the rest of the Panny dealers in the US.
That's how business is done. Put up a note in the jobs forum asking if anyone needs an AF100 for two days, at $250/day... if you get a bite, then go pick it up!Your not helping my wallet Barry, I'm so close to saying screw it and paying the tax. Now if someone were to rent it for 2 days before Monday...
May I ask with whom you inquired? I have promptly replied to those who have inquired with me personally.
Yes he has!
And may I ask who is your dealer, and when did you order?
Ticheli,
Currently my order says the same thing, but I called B&H a few hours ago and they assured me my order would be shipping at some point today.
Just talked to a fairly rude and clearly unintelligent individual over at B&H who couldn't tell me anything except that my camera was expected to arrive on January 7th. Pretty PO'd with the lack of interest considering I have been purchasing gear almost exclusively through B&H for almost 10 years.
Thats just the way B&H is. I've only been on the phone with them twice and both times I get a NY taxi cab mentality. But, they deliver online like a dream. I've spent 10's of thousands of $'s with them. The only online camera store I trust...
I talked to 3 different people at B&H yesterday in 3 different departments and they all seemed to be as nice and helpful as I could have asked for.
Meanwhile, B&H has been making interest on their customers money all this time.
Competition is a healthy thing.
That usually means an MAP (min advertised price) set by the manufacturer or distributor. We're usually allowed to sell below MAP, but not advertise below MAP. There are various types of MAP contracts each with particulars about whether we can use an "add to cart" option or an "email for better price" option and so on.... from B&H and all were less than their advertised price.
Looks like it's leaving here today. I see (and you should have) a UPS package number for it.Eventhough I did not get an email from B&H, I checked my order status online and I saw the message ""In stock, order sent to warehouse" right next to the camera.
Merry Christmas to me!
