Synder's it I guess.

I wonder how many of Superman's punches will be in slow motion?

That my friend is hilarious.

I do think though Snyder would do well with the adaptation, the slow mo woudn't be too bad if it wasn't over used. I kinda enjoyed the slow-mo in 3 hundred but not so much so in Watchmen, done right it could be effective. But I wouldn't wanna see it in a Superman movie, but then again I don't know what it would look like so maybe it might bring something fresh to the franchise.

One name I haven't seen anyone mention who would do it justice is Peter Jackson. After seeing what he did with King Kong, he is caple of anything.

I think after Superman Returns, they're looking for something that's as far away from the Donner movies as possible.

I liked Returns, I think it has a lot of greatness and is really underrated. Kevin Spacey is just brilliant.
But it's not what they're going for this time.

The only Superman related thing I have read in years that I found interesting was All Star Superman, check it out if you haven't, it is pretty great and I would love to see something with that sorta vibe put on screen.

It's offical, Zack Snyder will be the next director. Here's the article. http://www.nydailynews.com/entertai...s_director_with_jon_hamm_rumored_to_star.html I'm excited.

Looks like David S. Goyer who also wrote the script for Batman Begins is writing the new script for Superman, which makes me even happier because I think Batman Begin script was almost flawless. I don't know about that Superman title though, may just be a working title, let's hope so.

And looks like Snyder will be going for a whole different look than his previous films, whatever he decides, I trust him, he is a director's director, and with Nolan behind him, makes it even better. None of that will matter if Mr. Goyer don't put out a great script. Let's pray for a great script... and ofcourse how can I forget the second most important thing Superman himself, let's hope for great casting.

Jawa, I do agree Kevin Spacey was great in Return, but he had nothing to work with...

I have a hard time seeing audiences getting behind a new Superman film in the way the studio is hoping.

Superman himself is just too different from the darker and more down-to-earth superhero films that audiences expect these days. Superman is too invincible, and Clark Kent is too much of a Boyscout.

Superman would almost be better off being in a movie where he is not the central protagonist, like a Justice League film or something.

However, I look forward to seeing what Zack Synder does with the character.

Probably.

But I think Superman will have a much bigger chance at an audience than Captain America will. At least outside the US.

Boy scout Superhero dressed in the American flag, origin as a war hero?
They're gonna need to do A LOT of promotion for that one. But I guess if they can sell Fantastic Four 2 and Attack of the Clones, they can sell anything.

The smartest decision they made was setting it in the 40's during WW2. That should make the pill go down easier. They are also titling it First Avenger: Captain America, so overseas they can just call it First Avenger...I'd love to see a 50's era Superman, done in the style of those old Fleischer cartoons.

Absolutely. Where he could just leap tall buildings and not fly, right?

Superman is just way too powerful. He should be called Supergod.
Dr Manhattan is really what Superman is, or should be if he existed.

I guess it's Snyder.

According to yahoo, Zack Snyder has been chosen to direct.

I hear they picked Snyder.

You guys really gotta start reading these posts. :D

Since you asked, I wont bash you, but Cloverfield is definitely a big plus for Matt Reeves. I would love to see Superman in a mix of his Cloverfield styling and his recent Let Me In styling.

Snyder is a good choice, he'll do great things with it I have no doubt.

Superman has been cast, Henry Cavill.

He looks the part, and has a lot of acting experience.

What happened to the other one ? He reminded me of the late Christopher Reeves who was the Real Superman !
