The HVX is tough!!

Thanks for all the enthusiasm guys! I'm not sure why it stopped recording before it hit the ground. The camera was still on when I got to it and it was in standby mode. So I probably could have picked it up and gone straight back to shooting, but I left it in the sun to dry for a few just in case.

I'll be putting some of it up soon! The only thing is the clip got messed up when I dropped the camera so I dont have that shot :( Unless you know of any way to save the clip?

Trent
meh. no clip = didn't happen

Just kidding, :) glad you and your camera made it!

I fell off a zodiac boat into the Pacific in shallow water with my HVX. Everything went under..... I lost 1 16 GB card but the other one was fine. I threw the camera in a bucket of fresh water as soon as I could after wards, and the camera still works today. One of the record heads in the tape transport is toast but P2 works fine.

I believe that if your camera isn't on, there's nothing to fry the circuits... but don't take my word for it. Don't go throwing your cameras into water to test this out!

"But Paul told me to do it!" won't fly with the camera gods.

Glad to hear your gear is semi-okay, but better to hear that YOU are okay too. High speed humans and trees don't mix well.

Dang you Trent, are you holding the rest of the footage for the sequel? :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

I had mine fall off the tripod at a 6 foot height to the metal floor of a sissor lift 20 feet off the ground. Man was I glad when my HVX bounced off the floor, off the rail and back to the sissor lift floor instead of to the ground. Usually things fall in the worst way possible. :(

Yeh, I put the battery back in and finished 2+ more days shooting out of town. Not bad for an electronic device.

Disclaimer: children, don't try this at home! :2vrolijk_08:

P.S. nice slo-mo!
