The final week (Status Report)

29 frames? Man, I've still got 16 seconds to trim.

Is anyone short? I've got 384 extra frames that need a good home.

On the plus side, my special effects shot is mostly done (tweaking), and I've got my preliminary score idea pieces completed. I think I can almost relax.

mine is 5:58 so i get 2 seconds of credits :)

Chris Hurn was able to fit me in his schedule and sent me a few tracks after he watched the short. Im rendering them now to send back to him to get his input and then I should be done!!! My kids watched it for the first time in full tonight and they were like "dang, we did that?" I think they were impressed since I had no script and just some scene ideas on my treo that me and MsManhattan wrote over my sisters daughters baptism dinner. I had to keep going back to it to keep the story straight. I also had to beat them a few times to get them to stop laughing and giggling. I would beat the older one and she would beat her sister... worked out great. I guess she gets an assistant director credit for that.

Hey Olboy, the trick to keeping your actors is to use ones that are at their work when you shoot. You go up to the girl in the store and say do you mind being the lead and playing a girl that works in a store? Then you shoot when shes at work, you have to sit and wait though when customers come in. ;)

My original idea is gonna be postponed for later (hard to find a good time for everyone to get ...I want to take my time for that one. For now I will try and throw something together with a totally different approach than my 1st idea :P.

Newbie here...

Final edit and fx finished tonight... scoring tomorrow and Friday, CC and final mix over the weekend. We're sitting at 5:36 for final length (without end credits ;))

Been burnin' the midnight oil...

Finished shooting last weekend, rough edit ready-
All that's left is a few tweaks, a few shots of reshoots, cutting 3 mins., music, and some moderate color correction.

DANG! I thought I was done with mine, but I ended up exactly 384 frames short. What am I gonna do?!?!

man, if you'd only said something a few hours ago... I just gave that exact number of frames to an episode of csi:miami.

sorry.

Ok, this will be the last time I check in for awhile. Got my short down to six min. and I have 5:30 of music. (We're scoring the long version first, then editing the music for the short version). We'll finish music tomorrow night/morning. Then I'll make any final audio tweaks, and render out the sucker and review it! WHOOHOO! Almost there!

I'm getting SO frusterated with the audio mix right now (levels, making the SFX sound real & organic, not planted, etc.) and compositing the FX. Ugh.

Well I shot my first footage wednesday. Hoping to wrap footage saturday, that leaves 3 days for editing, adr, scoring, sfx, vfx and rendering.

BRING IT ON DAMNIT!

(Oh and i am supposed to be out of my apartment on the 1st too!)

OK, Just got word that theres a scheduling conflict saturday for the lead actress and actor. Turns out the actress got a part in a play and her rehearsal is 8pm on saturday.

The lead actor can't get to the set on saturday until 7, so they'd have only 30 minutes togethor.

Scrapped saturday shooting.

New schedule:

Saturday 4pm get togethor with lead actress to discuss next days lines, and setups. Do voiceovers, and any reshoots needed after I review wednesdays dailies.

Sunday: 2pm SHOOT ALL DAY AND ALL NIGHT BABY!

LoL, I need a new nick name, like Last Minute Lucidz.

My fiance just calls me "Lasts-only-a-minute Lucidz" :(
