The final week (Status Report)

I have still not shot a single frame of footage, my cameras giving me the red x, and i'm still tentative on who is showing up tonight for the principle.

However, I swear by all that is good, holy and unholy I will finish this motherslutting short if its the last thing I do!

I've even been growing a beard for the past 3 weeks, REFUSING to shave until I've completed the short.

My fiance hates me, and my camera now lol :)
 
Have you used a head cleaning tape? I had the same x appear the first night of shooting my short (first time it's ever happened, and I've logged 450 hours on the camera). But, the cleaning tape fixed it up, no problem!
 
Haven't tried a cleaning tape. I haven't even turned the camera on since I got the red x. My cam only has 17 hours on it, so maybe the tape was dirty or a spec of dust got on it. Was gonna try cleaning the heads tonight.

Where would I get a cleaning tape from like, tonight? :)
 
Well, Best Buy has some usually. Try to get a Panasonic one. And, also use some compressed air to blow out the dust. (I've done that since the day I got my camera, and it's never had dirty head issues.)

Briceman - you should just give your 26 seconds of footage to arielman paste at the end of his footage :cheesy:
 
You could put at the end of yours To Be Continued at the End of Arielman's Short

Ofcourse each film would have to be judged as seperate wholes -- your incomplete film and Arielman's odd collage of your work and his ..

But what am I thinking - Arielman, that's some valuable realesate you've got there - you should charge for it.

i still don´t have the effect shots (some of them are necessary for the STORY)-that didn´t come up the way i thought it would and i´m already at 7:30 min...of course no sound or score yet...i could drop out and finish an 8 min short, that i don´t really like or cut it down to 6 min, leave out the effects (then it wouldn´t qualify as sci-fi due to lack of genre elements) which would give me a-bad-acting-combined-with-shitty-camerawork-and-no-score-kind-a-thing...

one more question: can we use miniatures from existing movies (painted differently) or is that a copyright valiation? (let´s say i take a model of the psycho house, change it a little, paint it green and use it as a spaceship?-no advertising !!!)
 
Current status: redoing some CGI because my wife didn't like what I had.

Well, neither did I, but that's beside the point.

Heck, still got a few days, right? :)
