The Butcher and the Fox -- a film by AJ Brooks

But seriously ... what WAS this shot on?

yeah- because that's what matters most ...

I'm GLAD people like the visuals- that is an IMPORTANT part of telling a story in this visual medium, and I care A LOT about it however ...

... if the story sucks
... if the acting sucks
... if the locations suck
... if the direction sucks
... if the set design sucks
... if the lighting sucks
... if the script sucks
... if the blocking sucks

... good visuals, or a good camera doesn't matter and will not help you make it any better. It will just cost more. We were going to shoot this on the Nikon D7000, and I was just as happy to do so, knowing that there was a good story, good acting, directing, location, set design, etc. I think it still would have looked great as I would have played within the "rules" of that camera. Yes, I DEFINITELY preferred shooting on the Epic-X, and I was VERY glad that we were able to get it for the shoot. In the end it made the visuals more technically superior then if we went with the D7000, but that did not make the project as a whole any better IMO.

If it is crap to begin with, it will still be crap in the end.

And that is why I always enjoy working with AJ - it is never going to be crap. :)

"Ken style" is a useful adjective that's never been defined, and yet you knew EXACTLY what it meant ;-).

Don't worry, he'll never show up here. Hehehehe

Yeah, Ken made it to the party!

So Ken, what did you think of...

Hang on. I hear something down stairs...
