t2i vs 7D vimeo

Regarding Jello, they look identical to me. the 7D is framed a little higher so we get a bit more of the vertical lines, where as the T21 is framed lower so we see less, but it's there just as much asa the 7D.
That's how I see it...with any camera really. The more the image is zoomed in the greater the lean.

True...

I was thinking in terms all else being the same. For example my old HV20 looked great zoomed out...but when zoomed in you start to see the micro jitters and skew more clearly. The T2 and 7D looked to be at different focal lengths. Being that they have identical sized sensors I think a better judge would be to have them framed exactly the same.

But I do remember when the 7D debuted people were also saying how its skew looked better than the 5Dll...etc. Turned out to be a bit of an exageration (or wishful thinking).

I still love my 7D though. But the t2 looks like a killer bargain.

To the OP, thanks for doing this test. A quick shot of your focus chart or some other visual with fine horizontal lines would have given us an idea how the moire/aliasing compares to the 7D. This is the test I want to see.

Hi Phill, I'm made the original post but I didn't make the test.

I was refreshing a search on vimeo every so often because I knew a comparison video like this would be posted as soon as the cam was released.

Thanks should go to JJ from Orange Wedding Films

Forget about the S35 Scarlet, you have. : )
Yeah, not the price though ;-) There won't be Scarlet S35 in 2010 either :-(

From a nice talk with Ted last Sunday, it isn't hard to get that if there isn't Scarlet S35 mockup yet, but just for the 2/3" model (+ Epic), RED business model on the road is (I) RED ONE M-X upgrade (II) Epic (III) 2/3" -- no suspension points at the end, only release suspended.

(i know this is off topic)
But isn't he testing of the tattoo epic s35 also the testing of the scarlet s35?
Same sensor different asics they should drop at the same time
and probably a series of firmware builds right after

on topic:
I'm also in the running for scarlet, t2i represents a way to have less invested in a DSLR as I save for scarlet.
I would hazard a guess and say others like myself and Roberto are aiming at 2/3 fixed rather than s35 just out of price point

It apparently would make sense but strictly from under a technical POV. RED business model doesn't include Scarlet S35 in any way other than in another upcoming business window. That's what I could understand between the lines from the RED DAY last Sunday Feb 21 in Rome.

Price point aside, 2/3" and S35 formats are different animals.

The cinematographer side of me agrees.

The writer / director side of me disagrees as story is what counts.

I'm a writer and a director before I am a cinematographer! :)

Rule the world, I will.

Then I will buy an Epic 645 for each and every one of you.

I will also give each of you a peanut butter sandwich and a small bag of knock-off cheetos.
