Too bad they don't offer that online... there isn't a Fry's anywhere near Pittsburgh.

Everywhere I've seen is $799/body $899/lense. I still think Adorama probably has the best deal.... Around $950 for a Camera w/lense, bag, 8gb sd card. I most likely won't be doing any but playing around with it for a little while so the Class 4 card should suffice.

I need my tax refund so I can blow it already!
 
Finally!! After canceling from precision camera, adorama, and B&H, I finally got one from Frys this morning for 811$!! It's true but strange, all the signs said 899$ even in the store. Maybe it's a glitch in the computers?? I ended up calling a few of them and only 1 said it was 811$. However, I did call other ones and they said they do price matching so if you go to frys that has one in stock for 899$, have them call the Frys in Burbank, CA and they should match the 811$ price ... According to them, it was the last one they had in stock at burbank... so sorry if anybody tried to get one today from there...
 
Got confirmation from B & H - somehow, this is the first thing I've ever gotten from there.

Supposed to be here tomorrow!

really sucks that living in NY screws me over on tax when I want to use the best camera stores in the country (B&H and Adorama).
 
FWIW, the Rebel T2i body has come and gone. Hopefully more are coming. The The kit with the 18~55 IS is available.

Two observations bout price: first, when the advertised price is higher than the selling price the reason is often a MAP (min advertised price) agreement imposed on retailers by distributors. Second, @stateofmind -- I appreciate how much we'd like to avoid paying sales tax.If I can buy something here for $X and there for $X+, I'm opting for the former, presuming both retailers are equally legit. But I also appreciate that some of the taxes I pay keeps my schools open, pays for my fire and police protection, paves my roads, and plows the snow.

That said it is very gratifying to be called one of "the best camera stores in the country." Thank you.

I got one today from Frys as well. The price was a little different, $820 for the kit. The Woodland Hills story only had two and someone came in right after me to get the other one. I think some of the other stores still might have stock.
 
Whoo! I got lucky. I called Crutchfield yesterday when they had a T2i body available, but there was a problem with my card so I wasn't able to finish the order. I saw later that night that they had sold out. So I was bummed at work today and I got a call from them saying that they tried the card again today and it went through and they sent it out today. Soooo I'm relieved needless to say. So Crutchfield is definitely on my list of approved camera sights that I'll shop at more often now.

That said though, I do love B&H and I definitely plan on getting a ton of accessories from you guys very very soon.
 
I went to Fry's last week and they laughed when I said I had heard that they had a deal on the t2i. The salesman told me there was no way they would sell it less than sticker price because of the demand.

I know, a lot of folks seemed to have done the same. Some got it for less, and that's precisely why I went as well. The salesman wasn't very nice and I ended up walking out after I got the 'you gonna buy or not' attitude. I'll just wait for a body to become available.
