Dont forget the bag pipes. we kept trying to get you to play before the movie started..lol
it was a great pleasure to meet you all. And I am glad you enjoyed Avenal. We really hope that you come back and see us sometime.
You brought a great excitement to the Town as well as allowed us to meet and make new friends.
The pleasure was all ours, I assure you. I told Matt that the Avenal Theater would be a great place to test screen all our movies!
Here is an Avenal story: We finished the last screening and loaded up all our movie lights, cameras and other things. Our lighting technician, Shane Foster went to his van and started it up only to find his lights were not working. He told us to, "Go ahead and leave..." and that he would just sleep in the car until morning. We told him, no way, we never leave anyone... And even in formal wear, started to work on fixing his lights. We were around the front of the van and were struggling to fix Shane's lights when three young men in a van stopped and, walking over, asked if we needed any help. They were Correctional Officers off shift and were on their way home. We introduced them to Stephanie French our female lead star, and the nice guys went speechless and got real shy.
So, on a dark street, at 3:30am, we were offered help in Avenal.
Yay Avenal!
We fixed the head light though, and then went to Denny's for pancakes!
I think the last showing at 11pm was my favorite. The audience was screaming and shouting at all the right times... There were interactive comments, like, "Oh No!"... At the end of the film there was cheering and clapping. Before the 11pm show, there were only around 15 tickets sold, but the locals came out and both screens were ultimately short of only around 15-20 seats from full. Heck, my seat was even kicked by the lady behind me at the appropriate scary time! Cool!
