FEATURE: Stricken the Feature - A Matt Sconce Film

Augh! I am still a zombie... :zombie_smiley: But, a happy zombie.

It was so fun last night to see the huge audience love STRICKEN. What was really funny was the number of people in Oakhurst who came to the MET to see the movie who never go to scary films. They came because they knew Matt or Troy or myself, or had a friend or relative in the film from the area.

They SCREAMED and were hiding their faces. Some shouted comments spontaneously as they were so into the film. Later, I asked one lady about a certain part of the film and how she liked it and she shyly told me she didn't see it because she, "...Was holding my hands over my eyes..." during that part in sheer terror. So funny!

The 14-18 year olds were so excited and came running up after the movie spouting continuously about how much they loved it. That was very encouraging to Matt, Troy and I. That is a great demographic age group for filling theaters.

We had two feature directors come to see the film and both of them couldn't believe how in the world we did it.

Matt and Steve Tibbo are coordinating a final tweak of the sound mix that will be the last change in the film on our end. Steve Tibbo is so absolutely amazing.

Now, we get ready for Action on Film festival in Pasadena.

I am really into preproduction for THE PARK now in a huge way. I talked with another really solid actor about a lead role last night. We will start a thread on that soon. :engel017: Back to sleep...

I wanted to share some of the comments viewers said about STRICKEN as they were leaving.

"It was absolutely TERRIFYING!"

"I have seen four movies this week and STRICKEN was by far the best of the four."

"It scared me so much I had to hide my eyes!"

"The score was tremendous... It completely enveloped me into the movie."

"On my god, soooo scary!"

"The actors in this film really had chops... They were very believable in their roles."

"The sound in the film was like another good actor was on the screen... It was so good!"

Fun, fun, fun!

What are people saying about Stricken?

Here are some comments from people who have seen Stricken recently at a Local Theater screening:

"I just loved it and think it will do very well. It could be released in nation-wide theaters"

“I enjoyed it, it was very good, I had no expectation when I came to see the movie but it was very good and kind of reminded me of ‘Nightmare on Elm Street.’ The story line was not as predictable as I thought it would be — I’ve seen big budget films not as good.”

“The visual effects were awesome — I’d give it all the awards I can think of! It was amazing. The dude —
Sconce — is a genius.”

“I think it was scary, more scary than I thought it would be but I’d watch it
again, I’d like to see more movies by Matt Sconce.”

"Stricken is the best! I love the suspense and every character! So many beautiful AND haunting images!"

"Stricken had me on the edge of my seat! If you haven't seen this movie, you need to!"

"A must see movie... absolutely a must see movie..."

Also, Our sound mixer, Stephen Tibbo, was also just nominated for an Emmy for mixing the show "Modern Family"! :cheesy::cheesy:-Matt Sconce

Wow! Congratulations to STEVE TIBBO our sound mixer.

Pmed you back and working on it!

you have no idea how happy i am for you and your whole crew.

I must say though, everyone, cast and crew was so friendly i just cant get over it.

Thanks Debra! We had a blast.

UPDATE: Our last sound tweaks should be coming from Steve Tibbo any day now and I will start making the screeners for distributors. I have also invited them all to the showing in LA. I know they are busy, but I am interested to see who will actually attend. It shows initiative if they show up and that goes a long way with me.

Matt will not toot his own horn, but during production of STRICKEN, he was also nominated for an EMMY for editing an NBC educational weather series.

Good job Matt and Steve.

We are going down to Troy Ruff's tonight to set up an outdoor movie theater and watch his cool western short, BY HOOK OR CROOK, nominated for Best Western by the Action on Film Festival. We will BBQ and pig out! :Drogar-Happy(DBG):

... I am burning DVD's watermarked for screeners by the load... Yay!

We tweaked the sound mix one more time and are SOOOO happy with the final, final, final, sound mix.

On behalf of Matt, we would like to thank 'Sound Mixer Extraordinaire' and EMMY NOMINATED SOUND DUDE,
STEVE TIBBO

For going the extra mile to do the last tweaks. He is a special and talented sound guru and anyone who EVER needs that for a production should immediately contact Steve. You will be glad you did!

The previous post was mine... I posted on Matt's login by mistake. Sorry Matt! :banned:
We are getting our banner ready for AOF. I purchased some easels for our posters today. The kilt and bagpipes are getting packed...
