FEATURE: Stricken the Feature - A Matt Sconce Film

1hr 15 min into a locked-ish cut on Stricken. Superstar, Stephanie French dropped by and watched part of it and approved! Lookin good!

Stricken is now Locked-ish completely! I am waiting on an intro scene to be completed by a local digital artist and then one more refining pass and we should have a locked cut by the end of October. :engel017:

Then it is off to Sound Design with Brad Semenoff and Scoring with James Mierkey. Foley will then occur and after recommendations from Brad, we will move into ADR. During that time I will be VFXing it and lastly, the CC pass from Jeremiah Belt. When all of that is said and done. Stricken will LIVE!

I have 6 Distributors and 2 sales agents waiting to see a screener of the final product. It is exciting!

Yeeeeeeeeeeeee Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw! :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Congrats Matt on your hard work, creativity and dreams coming to reality.

The HyperCrane is available later this week for those shots. :engel017:

Beautiful, beautiful still shots there.

Good luck to you on this, Matt.

Thanks! Things are moving along nicely. I am working on the intro. I am preparing for a technical editing flow screening on the 30th. After that, I should finalize the cut.:engel017:

Stricken title effect test. It is still VERY rough but it kinda shows the look I am going for.

cool titles...we met with an animator earlier this week about animating our Reel One Entertainment Logo for preceeding "Battle"...always wanted a cool ProdCo intro so we'll see how it goes.

Your progress is steady and looks to be well planned...get some more distribs eyes on it in the interim though because your movie looks to be shaping up to be very good.

Good luck.

Congrats Matt on the whole film, everything I have seen so far looks fabulous. Those credits are really tight also. BTW, what program did you use to get those effects?

Many STRICKEN transition shots planned for Saturday. Permits applied for and HyperCrane ready... BTS will come. Pray for cool, interesting weather! :engel017:

Hello! Thanks, we are living up to our motto of never settling.

For the title test, I used After effects to do the effect and photoshop to create the layers. I took a high definition image of shattered glass 4000 pixels wide and made a 7000 by 20000 pixel image. I then placed the text as a layer in photoshop and the celtic images as another layer. I used diference blending mode to seat the text in the cracks then went through cutting a few more lines and distorting the text in Photoshop. I then imported the layers into a 1280 by 720 comp in AE, used the CC drizzle effect a bit and animated a camera 35mm in 3D space in AE CS4. I attached a spot light to the camera so it would move with it and there you have it. Hope that helps!:engel017:

A local TV show about haunted places and spooky things is talking about Stricken on Sunday on KAIL. Here is the article and the excerpt about Stricken.
http://www.fresnobee.com/entertainment/tv-radio/story/1682011.html

"
Halloween comes early on KAIL (Channel 7.1) with two locally produced spooky specials airing this weekend. “Eye on Horror,” at 8 p.m. Sunday, explores several central San Joaquin Valley haunts and offers a sneak peek at the locally produced horror film, “Stricken.” Sharon Kille Jenkins hosts.
It’ll be followed at 9 p.m. by “Hauntings in Central California: The Sierra Sky Ranch” where the Central California Paranormal Investigators look for proof that Sierra Sky Ranch is haunted.
KAIL program director Bob Jenkins says money was raised for the programs because interest in Halloween as a holiday is growing.
“Just look at all of the homes that decorate in spider webs and orange lights. These specials tap into that enthusiasm for the holiday,” he says.
Since the local station produced the first “Eye on Horror” special in 2004, Jenkins has been pressed by viewers for the station to do another."

Today, my dad and I are going out to shoot some transition shots and exteriors! Intro is now rockin and almost done. Wish me luck! -Matt

WOW! Crazy amaziness happened tonight. Just imagine what we were trying to do and then amplify the results by about 5000. More after I have uploaded footage, including some screen shots. -Matt

So we planned on getting to shoot the sunset and city from a 7 story parking garage. Due to awesome providence, we instead ended up on the tallest building in Fresno filming it all. It was amazing. Here are ome screengrabs from the pick ups.

We shot a crane shot at a home in Coarsegold, that will be placed near to the end of the film. Here is Matt discussing the shot with the owner of the home Ray Fonda (yes, related to Henry Fonda.) The HyperCrane is under construction here.

We used 'Our Ways' and got to the top of the tallest building in Fresno for B reel stuff. This was really amazing. The pagoda building in the background is the old Security Bank building and is the second tallest building. We used it in the shot.

Half the antennas in town were on this roof. You don't want to get within 3 feet of these. The dome on the right was a microwave unit.

We smile as the camera does its thing. We started rolling at around 40 minutes before sunset and then rolled until around 30 minutes after sunset. We then shot night shots. Fun, fun, fun!

We then changed locations and set up on a parking structure to film night cityscapes, traffic, and also a set scene with one of our cars changing direction from a 'God's eye view'. What a great day of STRICKEN goodness!

I was so happy, I played my bagpipes at 22 stories up, probably freaking out the entire downtown Fresno area with ethereal Scottish tunes 'from nowhere'. Hehehehe!

I am watching Stricken on Blu Ray in HD on my PS3 on my 50 inch Television at the moment for the first time. I am extremely pleased with how it looks. :thumbsup:This will be used to show the technical screening on Friday. After that, I will lock the cut.
