I am planning to edit and do many of the compositing VFX shots, including potential Maya renders. I also will now be able to work with my red footage in a non crashing format, as well as encode Blu-ray much faster.

Since I've edited an HVX feature on a Duo Core 3.0Ghz before, without a hitch ever.

HVX for most of this with 4K and 3K red footage for the effects shots and then some heavy compositing work. This was designed by BOXX to my needs so I am stoked.

The BOXX system is going to allow us to work into more VFX work in house and then in the future work into red boxx computers when we go to 6K scarlets. We are hoping to grow this studio into a full production house in the future, and have other feature scripts in the lineup for production. :kali:

UPDATE: We went away from the BOXX order to a system twice as fast and with double the ram, with a better video card for the same price. I love newegg! We should order it sometime between now and Wednesday. Once it comes in, editing begins.

Absolutely! Dual quad core I-7 processors (Eliminating the Front Side bus), 24gb of ram, Quadro CX card optimized for CS4. 4 tb Raid 0 setup for writing data (Backed up each night to an external drive), with two 1TB e-sata externals feeding the data into Premiere, 2 tb Raid 0 for the operating system (Vista 64 Ultimate-Upgraded to Windows 7 when I can) and a 2 tb raid 0 for the cache. Adobe CS4 editing. Oh, and two 22 inch HD flat screen monitors. I am excited! -Matt:2vrolijk_08:

Those specs are insane. How much? If I may ask? I was going to go with a Mac Pro soon. I'm having second thoughts....
