UPDATE
4-14-07
The first day of filming. We show up to our Downtown location to find the streets all blocked off with a huge film crew, cranes, cars , extras, cops and Jackie Chan. They were filming Rush Hour 3. We had to adjust the location of one of our shots, but we were able to get everything we wanted. It probably put us back an hour. I found out later that they were on their 126th day of filming that movie. Can you imagine shooting for that long. After my first day with this shoot, I 'm already exhausted. Although, It might have something to do with how out of shape I'm in. My DP was great. He kept a cool head all day and we were able to get everyhting we wanted. We went over schedule by 2 hours, but I blame Jackie Chan.

We are several hours away from or shoot. I hope we have evrything that we are going to need. I've got my fingers crossed. I'll update after our shoot.

The tech scout went great. I feel confident in our choices. Just signed my agreement with SAG. I've gotten most of the props and the costume fitting is tomorrow. Still have some technical stuff t work out, but I'm feeling confident we are going to make a great film.

The shoot is just two weeks away. We will be shooting in Los Angeles on the weekend of the 14th and 15th. The Locations are locked in except for a couple that we are ripping off, including a parking garage, that we hope we don't get kicked out of. Now we are working on props, costumes and special effects. Also working on a shot list and setting a shooting schedule. We tech scout the locations next Monday. I'll let you know how it goes.

I'm thrilled to be participating in Spyfest. I hadn't purchased my camera yet (Still waiting for some money to come in) but I had an idea for a short and wanted to make it. I posted here on the forum saying as much, and asked if anyone had their own camera and wanted to shoot something. Mike Halper at Ascentia films wrote me back. He's been great. He just finished his first feature ERASED that he shot with his own equipment. The Trailer looks great. He liked the script, we met up and decided to make the film together.

The script is pretty much finished. We are scouting locations. The cast is set. Our biggest challenge now is finding a Parking Garage with multiple levels and a stairwell for one of our locations. Anyone have any ideas?

Joe, your pics/images aren't showing up ... looking forward to seeing 'em!
I'm still working on getting the cast photos and Location shots. Hopefully soon. I didn't even know how to start a thread and put a banner on my name till yesterday.

I'm still getting my feet wet.

Hey dudes,

I'm looking forward to work with you guys! I wish you good luck and have fun with the shootings! A bummer that the distance is that huge and I can't be there when you're shooting. Well, in the near future I see myself sitting in a small appartment in LA...

For a parking garage I'd stay away from malls, but some private business, buildings might work for you, might ask the management company or run-and-gun it. Good luck and if it looks like you won't have a camera in time, rent one.

Thanks for coming aboard. I think you are very talented and I'm excited to be working with you.

I agree. I'm out looking today. It's Saturday and we will be filming on a Saturday, so I figured check them out the same day you film to see how deserted they will be. And, we do have the camera Mike owns the camera, lights, sound and editing.

This production is going to be a lot of fun. We'll have some pretty cool shots and visuals with the use of the Glidecam and FigRig. Only 3 weeks away... I'm looking forward to it!

We'll try to get those temp banners working soon.

I got a great cast for this project. They work in both TV and Film, all the time.

VINCENT VENTRESCA was the INVISIBLE MAN on the Sci-Fi Channel.
KEVIN CHAMBERLIN had a reccurring role on HEROES.
KEVIN WEST played the homeless guy on PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS with Will Smith.
And LORETTA FOX starred on last season's Fox series FREE BIRDS.

On another note, I'm still looking for a parking gargage location in Los Angeles. If anyone has ay suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

hey that's quite a cast.
Vincent and Kevin C's picture are still a no shows :(

looking forward to it seeing your film ....
the three pics I can see get my imagination going:
KEVIN W = top badguy
LORETTA = girl whose allegiance is uncertain
JOHN = hero trying to sort it all out

Am I Close????? Wish I could see the whole cast.

Thanks. I'm very happy with the cast. I don't know what is going on with the pics not showing. I can see evrything fine on my end. I'm using a mac. I don' know if that makes a difference.

If anyone has any ideas why certain pics and banners aren't displaying on certain computers, please help me out.

You were pretty close with your guessing. Kevin is a badguy.

I'm going to try to get their pics up, but you can check them out on IMDB.com

Thanks for the post and your banner looks really cool.

I look forward to seeing your entry in the fest.

GREAT CAST!

Back when I was working in Southern CA, I used to go to the Arcllight (DOME) theater in Hollywood. I believe that it is on Sunset and Vine, just down fromt the CNN building. Anyhoo... that theater has a nice garage attached and there is also a nice entrance between the theater and what was (when I was there) a culinary school. I don't know what you have in mind, but I always liked that location. There is also a glass elevator that can be viewed from out side in the courtyard in front of the ticket entance to the theater.

Just a suggestion.

Thanks for the tip on the lot at the Archlight. I think it may be hard to get, but I'll check it out.

I'm looking forward to your film. Your Storyboards and cast both look great.

Hey man, I'm so excited about that film. Definitely a great cast!!!
Just can't wait to start scoring! Well ya, the Arclight has a great lot. I've been there last year.
