I'm getting excited about the shoot. It's in less then two weeks. I feel like we're on top of things. I'll see how I feel next week.

I remember Kevin West from an episode of Angel during its first season. Congrats on the great casting!! That is really cool.

Thanks. He did do a good job on Angel. I'm glad to have him on this project.

Finished our Tech Scout

Finished our Tech Scout

We had a good day of Tech Scouting our locations. The DP and 1st AD were extreamly helpful. I feel much more confident about our shoot this weekend. I think the shoot will go much smoother now that we are all on the same page.
I just have to finish with props, set dressing and costumes by Saturday. No problem.

Hi Joe, Glad to see things coming along. Did we meet at the HVX user meeting in LA last December? You look familiar to me. Good luck on the project, it looks like a good one.

Yep, that was me. Good to hear from you. I like your poster and the dialogue about what stirs underneath the surface. Good luck with your film. I can't wait to see how it turns out.

Thought that was you, but these avatars are too darn small. (we all said we would put our pictures up so we could recognize each other back online. It was a good idea)

I remember you were doing research and consider the HVX. Glad to see you took the plunge. If you guys have another meeting, I really might have to find an excuse to get out there again. What a turnout that was. Hold that in Boston and at most 3, maybe 4 people will show. Thanks for the well wishes and I wish you the same.

Hey Joe, great looking cast! I must admit my favorite of the bunch is John Hermann! (I just worked with him on the last fest... what a great guy! Please tell him Ted says hello!)

Good luck on the shoot. Looking forward to your film.

Thanks. I'll let him know. Good luck on your film. It's one that I'm anxious to see.

I actually haven't taken the plunge yet. I posted that I wanted to enter but didn't have a camera. Mike Halper, who owns all his own equipment, wrote back. He liked the script and agreed to shoot it. I feel really lucky, I get to try out the camera and learn something from the Dp before I shell out the bucks myself.

PARKING GARAGES:

Charli's right. If you haven't already found one, I suggest you look to shoot in a corporate business park parking structure. Weekends are best, since there's often NO EMPLOYEES around. Find one with no security cameras, and no on-duty security guards (there's plenty of 'em out there like that). If you shoot anywhere with cameras or on-duty security, you'll be shut you down within minutes. Good luck!

We have a grip that may be cancelling on us, so we need another. The shoot is this weekend 14th and 15th. Saturday is a few locations in Los Angeles from 7am to around 7pm. Sunday is in Long Beach from about 2pm-6pm and in Silverlake from 7pm until we finish. On Sunday we could meet in Silverlake before 2pm and take as few vehicles as possible down to Long Beach. Food will be provided of course. PM me if you can help. Thanks!

Wish Me Luck!!!

Wish Me Luck!!!

We shoot in a few short hours. I'm going to try to go to sleep early, but I have a feeling I will sit there and stare at the ceiling. I must have woken myself up ten times last night to flip on the light to write down something I'd forgotten or need to get done.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'm prepared.

I'll let you know how it goes.

 ??? What do you mean?
We showed up to our first location, Downtown LA, by the YMCA and the streets were all blocked off. There was a huge film crew there shooting Rush Hour 3 with Jackie Chan. We had to readjust our locations and it cost us a few hours.

WOW! That is lame and a crazy cooincidence. Must have been a cool location if They used it for the movie!

Jo - that's wild. Hope you took some pictures of Jackie. If not, I'm sure you'll find his look-alike in Hollywood.
