There’s talk of a 6% reduction in price of the FX9 from January in Europe (at least UK). Something you heard anything about?

I saw that thread. A Sony employee chimed in and said the only discounted package was for students. I'm wondering if that guy's friend is a student.

But someone’s order was also reduced by £600 by his dealer... hmmm... Mine’s to be delivered second week of January so I guess I’ll find out then ;)

Unless you want the extension unit to provide V-Lock capability the unit is quite useless until the summer anyway (when the update that adds support for slot-in wireless and 16bit raw is released)
 
What does it mean that the release date was moved to Dec 30th? Is that when vendors get their cameras or do they have them already and are they only allowed to begin shipping them on the 30th?
 
My vendor received shipments on Friday, the 27th and charged me then for me pre-order and will ship tomorrow 12/30 so I'd imagine that's a similar timeline to other vendors.
 
Thanks , That's kind of what I figured but I imagine shipments to various vendors and how many each will get will differ. Who's your vendor?

My dealer told me initial orders of the FX9 were 7x more than the C500MkII, but orders for the FX9 stagnated and the C500MKII continued to take orders, including from people like me. Now the figure is closer to 3x as many FX9 sales.
