I predict that in the end the Fx9 will outsell the C500mkii 3:1, if not greater.

If for no other reason than the lower price-point.

It isn’t a contest, and it is a contest. Know what I mean? The C500mkii will result in Canon making up some lost ground. But it won’t result in Canon retaking the throne.

You're probably right. The FX9 will sell like gangbusters, no doubt. So will the C500 II. They'll just be selling to mostly different markets.

There's going to be a heavy overlap.

Today the ProAv guy opined that, while it may not work for the "big budget" productions due to the lack of Raw, FX-9 will do very well with the independents and lower end streaming content. I'd say that both cameras will take a big bite from the adjacent niche markets - Sony up from the $5,000-$10,000 range and Canon down from $25,000-$40,000.
