C200: Some good C200 footage appearing now!

The footage was going to an Atomos Inferno so Im sure they were able to get ProRes 422. I have been seeing some promising footage that is pushing me to get the C200.
Good find! Really, really good production values and frankly, if you had told me this was shot by one of the big boys (Arri/RED) I wouldn't have batted an eye. Looking at their settings, they were shooting RAW+proxy files in HDR. I wonder what their post workflow was...

My camera doesn't display aperture info in T-stops like theirs was; is that because they are using Canon Cine glass (I haven't yet)?

EDIT: If you look at the settings at 3:26, they were shooting pure MP4 at some points.

I got the impression that they shot both with Cine and still lenses and that when using the still lenses, DPAF was used. I wish they hadn't introduced the C700 because it confuses the issue, was "this shot" on the C700 or C200? Nice footage, high production values. None of it looks extraordinary to me but it all looks really nice. But still doesn't look like an Arri.

I'd be curious to know why they chose to incorporate the C700 into the shoot. Going shot by shot through the BTS it looks like they only used it on a few set ups when they were on the 30-300, one being the green screen shot. It also looks like they have it labeled as their "C" camera. I see a C200 labeled as their "A" camera and I see other setups where you can see two C200s so I'd assume the other C200 was their "B" cam.

I thought the same thing when I saw the C700 pop up. To compound it a bit, that exact same DP/production company had another article on Red Shark where they highlighted using the C700 on another car shoot (looked like it could be similar locations too?) so it kinda makes you wonder what was what. Kinda...I mean there is no reason to doubt that it’s on the C200 given the similarities between it and the C700 (same sensor, color science, etc.) but I just wish they’d kept the “big boy” out of the BTS.

Recently picked up a C200, coming from a C100ii. Put's out some stunning images. Will post the short I just shot when it's done. Here's a very poorly graded screengrab for now. I also shot a small social ad recently as well using the 8bit, and I must say the MP4 does hold up even under some grading. Obviously you gotta nail your exposer and white balance, but you can still push it a little before it falls apart.

Adobe need to add cinema raw lite support asap though. Will save a loads on file sizes, and for small stuff I would be happy to just use Lumetri.

THis is what they said,

"Hi the entire tvc was shot on the C200, including green screen. The C700 was only used as a comparison for future projects.
i.e using the two cameras together as an A cam B cam".

Thanks for the info. Now I want to know what they thought of the comparison...

Don't start comparing it to an Alexa/Amira now! haha

So insanely good...I just don't get it.

I would be willing to bet pretty much all of my money that if you took a GH4 and turned it on with those setups, it'd beat 99% of Red / ARRI stuff out there from lower level productions.

There's never a situation where this makes sense, but I would LOVE to see it happen because frankly, I think people would be shocked.

lol

But I'm surprised/it's interesting you'd choose a GH4 out of all of the other lower-end choices there are (vs. Canon DSLR, Sony, etc).

Just the first that came to my head as a representative of a lower end camera.

Honestly, put an iphone on those sets and it's beating the vast majority of work out there.

Wow, just...wow. This segment of the market is really heating up.
Nice clean rig, btw

Agree that this is a nice clean rig without too many unruly snakes hanging around the camera.

Wonder if some AC is going to use the Canon touchscreen with longer cable off camera and use it for focusing and tell us if it suits.

I guess it will be a year and a half before the price of the Canon EVF V70-OLED viewfinder comes down in price.
