Smuggler's Ransom- OFFICIAL THREAD

yep... actually, I broke it knowingly :) decided to do that, felt it worked for the scene... :)

Ahh. As long as it's intentional. I still found it confusing. I've seen your trailer a couple times and each time I saw that part I got confused. It only just occured to me why. Just curious, why did you break the line there? Since the purpose of breaking it is usually to confuse the audience. It does do that, since it confused me each time I saw it. How does it play into that scene?

It works in the scene, I don't know how to explain it, but the staging and other shots I use make it work... plus there are a lot of shots from that scene that I do not use... It was an intentional choice. Maybe the wrong choice (I'm still learnin') but intentional nonetheless. I think the scene works in the film :)

Your choice. I like to justify my cuts. If it works, why does it work? And nothing is set in stone. There are plenty of ways to make it work. You could flip the woman's shot instead. Just giving honest feedback.

I still don't like the trapcode shine effect in the trailer. Shine is very 2001.

Just my opinion. :)

Well... it works in the sense that most of my shots are CU's of the woman...

Also, not totally sold on the shine anymore either... for the new trailer we're cutting we won't have it... working on a theatrical longer trailer right now :)

Yeah, I'm just challenging a little. The line break seemed like a mistake and not an intention. If no one else notices it don't worry about it.

Man, im still blown away that you got Anthony Tyler Quinn on board!!!!!! I was such a huge fan of Boy Meets world (He played "Jonathon Turner") and when I watched your trailer for the first time, I had to do a double take to make sure that was who I thought it was. Congratulations, the film looks outstanding!

Thanks a lot man, yeah, he was a great guy to have on board... excellent individual to work with and really down to earth :) He's become a good friend.

BTS photos are up! Still have much more to upload though. Creating image galleries is such a long process. I wish there was an easy button for this kind of stuff. Although simple viewer makes it a little easier. The pain is resizing 3 meg files to a file size that is suitable for web implementation.

Enjoy!

Briceman that lead male actor you have is just excellent. Ive watcched it a few times now and his timing everything just works so well.

Conversley when the girl says "what power do they have to threaten you" Im just not feeling it. Id suggest if you have another take to consider it. It just feels contrived. Also I just think in general this scene could perhaps be more dramatic, I guess the message in this scene is a key point?

Also I dont fully understand who he is.

Anyway shots are looking good. Looks like a great bunch to work with in the images. I hope you get what you deserve ... heh that doesnt sound too good. I mean in a good way.

Great job on the site, by the way....looks very professional.

Peace,

Yeah I agree but theres one thing I forgot to mention in my post. In Safari on mac anyway the pages come up as untitled... might need to change that.

On Firefox and IE it reads: "Noa/Rice Digital presents Smuggler's Ransom". Maybe you need to do a force refresh (Ctrl+F5 on Firefox...don't know on others).
