Smuggler's Ransom- OFFICIAL THREAD

hey, i know a Matt Derr!!! is your Matt Derr my Matt Derr? did he grow up in Pennsylvania and have a pet ferret? probably not, but you never know.

No... Matt Derr is 19 years old and he has never been to Pennsylvania... I don't think... and he doesn't have a pet ferret... LOL! Matt Derr's father was a great stuntman... and his brother Kevin is currently in stunts as well... Matt's more the musician himself..

Just viewed the trailer projected on a big 16 x 10 screen and it looked GREAT! The DVX never ceases to amaze me.

You do?

I dunno, I find the dude in the lower right corner to be out of place. He seems to be either in motion or out of focus and looks just weird there.

Brandon-I see that some of your actors are SAG correct? How did you go about doing it with them? I know there are different ways, I'm just wondering what route you followed. Thanks, Tim.

Only two ways to get SAG talent on your project. Legitimately, meeting all of SAG's guidelines, or below the radar (and just not giving a rip about all the union stuff).

I've gone the latter on the last two projects of mine that had a high ratio of SAG talent, but I'm also much further away from the LA area, so perhaps that makes it easier.

Brandon, I've checked out some of the music, and it's nice, but are these the final mixes, or will he be using different samples? Some of it had a MIDI sound/feel, which I'm not sure if you're going for or not.

I thought you could have the actor file for a waiver through the SAG? Which entitles them to work however they want, without the SAG benefits. Waiver just says that they assume responsibility for their own work?

Am I wrong? I probably am.

Well then technically even getting the waiver would meet a guideline of theirs ... just anytime you're going to deal with SAG it can REALLY drag things out, especially if you're wanting to jam on production like Brandon & many others want to with projects.

I could go into it more, but don't want this to become a thread hi-jack about working with or without SAG.

These are NOT the final mixes at all... Matt was even a little pissed I put them online already, haha! He's workin' on them still and he's a perfectionist so I am sure he'll get them sounding excellent!

Thanks Norm... that's precisely why I chose to answer the question outside the thread privately :)
