J Jordan_S Veteran May 9, 2010 #2 People have reported problems with AF; the lens may require re-chipping. It's a crappy lens, anyway.
T TooTallTim Well-known member May 9, 2010 #3 Yes, you just buy the Canon fit version. Google is your friend by the way...

J Jordan_S Veteran May 9, 2010 #5 Do you need 2.8? If not, I recommend the f/4 IS. It's the sharpest of the four and not unwieldy.
E etrust Well-known member May 9, 2010 #6 i don't know if i need f4. I need it for shoot film. I never had something like that Help me to choose.

J Jordan_S Veteran May 9, 2010 #7 Indoor shooting without a light setup will warrant the purchase of the 2.8. Outdoors, f/4 will perform quite well. OK, so you won't get the creamiest bokeh. But you also won't be schlepping around a telescope. Why do you want this focal length range?

E etrust Well-known member May 9, 2010 #8 Hi, what you mean with sleeping around a telescope? I don't now really. Another guy told me that this could be a good start: 17-55 and 70-200. I want only to make music videos and short films. I do not exactly know what i need. My goal is to make music videos and film. I like the DOF Effect What would you suggest. You have maybe more experiance

J Jordan_S Veteran May 9, 2010 #10 Take your time and don't buy anything until you understand why you want it and how you'll use it. It sounds like you may need a primer on exposure. Wikipedia is a fine place to start. I still go back to this book when I need a refresher. I've learned a lot from this site.
