Zacuto baseplate, handles, rods and plate with Anton Bauer mount and battery, Berkey top plate, handle and rods, Berkey shoulder mount (not shown), Small DP4 EVF, Anton Bauer/BEC Lectrosonics wireless holder, Genus matte box with nuns knickers..

The battery serves as a counterweight for handholding, and I have a Bauer multitap on it to power the wireless, the EVF and a light if I ever use one again.

Everything is balanced really well and works on the tripod or handheld. Its not too heavy either thanks to the lightweight Zacuto grips and the Berkey stuff. With tripod work I usually remove the grips but I left them on here to shoot the image.

Love the Berkey stuff, but I am looking for a solution to the top handle mount. I am concerned it is holding a bit too much weight.

Jeff

Pix on FS100.jpg

So, the Pix220 is on a Noga Arm, and the cabling is pretty manic as we were doing a quick setup quick pulldown job (talking head with autocue, obviously).

The Noga is usually doing EVF duties:

EVF on FS100.jpg

Which felt natural on the tripod and on the 'lollystick' handle setup in faux Bolex H16 mode.

I need to do a bit of experimenting with my ShotGrip FS100 handle, mounting the Pix200 to that, but it's all building UP and I think it's got to go AFT for ENG/R&G. The time is rapidly coming where I have to say 'bugger it all' and get a full on rails system. But before that I need to buy Mr Morgan Moore a pint or two.

Frank, where are you getting HDSDI from?

Does the BM Hyperdeck Shuttle convert HDMI to HDSDI?
Shame it doesn't record ProRes, it will sell loads more.

Duncan.

Has anyone used/seen the new Cinevate interchangeable lens mount/cheeseplate for the FS100?

Looks pretty shmick.

Yep - looks cool. I wonder what this kind of looks cost :(, though...

$650 for the cheeseplates and mount adapter, plus $75 for standard still camera mounts or $450 for the PL-mount.

Would certainly be handy for distributing the weight of heavier lenses.

Frank, would you buy the Tilta again? I've been leaning towards the Letus MCS but They seem like a really nice option for the money.

so does this take the place of the metabones adapter? (you could use this with canon ef lenses instead of the metabones?)

I dont like this rig only because you can't use other manufacturer adapters and even changing between cinevate adapters will take hell of the time (unscrewing etc).

No, the Cinevate is a dumb adapter, not a smart one like the metabones. They are up to stock btw, emailed them for delivery time, 3 weeks instead of the 14 I keep reading online lately.

I finally figured out how to mount my FS100 on my Cinevate Atlas 10 with vertical kit for vertical slides!

Rebel, how do you like the Atlas for the vertical slides with the weight of the FS100 on it? Is it smooth everytime?

Matt... how do you like the pix220? Do you get noticable increase in quality? Or is it purely a workflow thing? Apart from the SDI, would you see any reason to upgrade to the 240?

Takes a bit of practice to get it right, but overall happy. Not much different than the 550D. If its a bit wobbly I use warp stabilizer in After Effect or now Premiere CS6. Gives you amazing smooth slider shots 90% of the time.

Latest Builds;

Bigger rig with lots of power for all day shooting, good balance on the shoulder, good eyeline shoulder mount, drops on sticks balanced, shotgun, lav, monitor for focus, hand to reporter mini boom

Super small rig, rig for sticks or cradle handheld (no shoulder), less power, no lav, but super light

OK, so here I go :)

Sorry for the poor pic quality - just wanted to make the point:

- my FS100 is on a shoulder rig with perfectly balanced CoG, which is also well balanced on the tripod
- the rig can be detached from tripod and put where it belongs (on my shoulder, that is)
- the camera itself can easily be detached from the rig (the Zacuto EVF and nanoFlash are left over; all that is required is just some cable swapping), for low-profile, R&G shooting
- the PAG battery is a good counter-balance and it can power the light, the nanoFlash, and the Zacuto EVF
- depicted is my Canon FD 50/F1.4 lens, but there is plenty of room for a longer lens; with my Canon FD 35-105 the matte box goes forward, the camera goes back a little - and I'm getting perfect balance again!

Hi, this is my FS700 set:

_MG_9482.jpg

I like it. Quite practical. Never thought of mounting the shoulder pad underneath like that. Seems like when you have your face right beside the cam like that does it not make it inconvenient to operate the buttons on the side and top?
