I also have the TV Logic 5.6'' which I mainly use. Everything is powered up though through the V Mount Bracket / Battery.

I assume that's a clip on matte box, which make is it and if that 18200 is zoomed then is it strong enough to hold the weight of clip on and filters? I'd be a bit dubious about adding weight to the end of that thing fully zoomed out?

Clip on matte boxes are a good idea for those dSLR lenses that extend, i have a Lee bellows matte box which has been really useful in the past.

The rig implies that you shoulder mount it and use the existing LCD with the loupe - does that work for you?

cheers

That mattebox is extremely light, never felt a problem with it clamped on. I do have a lens support coming in though.

I kind of like that loupe eye piece I prefer my TV Logic 5.6'' monitor with noga arm, and I am thinking about buying the new TVlogic EVF. I don't know yet I will have to play with it.

The shape handles are great though, my favorite piece of kit. Along with that red rock micro plate. I push the handles forward and plate pushes up against my back, so I am able to get a real steady shot. Very comfy. Camera is a little front heavy though.

I should move the battery bracket towards the back.

Yes I bought the DMatte.

The only problem I have with it is when clamping on to the adapter ring. I don't think it meant to clamp onto a 82mm ring. Probably more like a 81 or 80mm. You really have to force it on there. You can't beat $225 though.

Michael, looks like your matte box is the Dmatte.

Would like to hear all the negatives about it. Thanks

As i mentioned take a look at the Lee filter system. You can build up your own combinations and the clip on matte box is bellows style which are pretty flexible. You can get different adaptor rings for different sized lenses which will adapt the system to a variety of sizes and it's pretty easy to clip on. I'd been running it on an EX1 for years, did the job really well and the Lee filters are very nice. It's all a bit non standard though but fairly inexpensive.

The dmatte looks a bit more universal

@bubble, how did you get the second wheel off of the Trusmt FF? That second gear wheel gets in the way of operating a zoom lens. I tried to get it off and am afraid of busting the FF by putting too much force on it.

Will supposedly get on Skype with the Trusmt folks to learn how best to deal with this issue. Will report back.
They had some difficulty removing the gear wheel, "very tight fitting to prevent backlash", according to them. They finally used a flat head screw driver and pried the gear wheel off. Hard to see if it dinged up the housing on the Skype video. I'l give mine a try when I get back home.

I had the link for a mount that attaches to the pan handle rosette of a Manfrotto 503hdv head...and now I can't find it. Can anybody help?

Pardon the bad iphone image, but I finally have a decent rig combination that is fairly light weight (14.4 lbs w/ counterweight) and balances very well.

Parts include:

- Berkey FS100 baseplate (with backloaded configuration)
- SmallHD DP6
- Jag 35 handles / shoulder pad/ counterweight / monitor mount
