C200: SHOT ON THE C200 - Completed/released/commercial projects only

Our entry for the film riot 60 second film competition. Doesn't really show off the camera at all, but was shot in RAW. Probably will re-edit/grade at some point but deadline for comp is tomorrow so had to put something together quick.

Love this, very cute and creative. Good execution. So 4K 60p for the slow motion walk at the end?

This is the first project with my Canon C200. I shot with Sigma Art lenses and relied completely on the cameras autofocus.

I’d like to know how well the autofocus functioned with the sigma art lenses. I use Canon lenses, mostly L glass becasue I figured that they would function best in a Canon designed DPAF system. I have checked out some of the Sigma Art series and find them attractive but have not had a chance to-use them on a project .

Great job on your film!ew

From what I have read, the Sigma ART 18-35mm 1.8 is the hot lens for the C200 and the DPAF works well. I have heard that the 50-100 is not as responsive and has massive focus breathing as well so not as desirable as the 18-35mm. I have been tempted by the 18-35mm 1.8 ART except for the absence of IS. I mainly use the Canon 17-55 2.8 IS as my cinema verite lens and depsite it's slow, clunky AF and last generation IS, it is working pretty well with the C200. I think the Sigma is sharper and has better contrast but the lack of IS reduces it's appeal for handheld shooting for me.

Finally released and shot over a period of 3 days for our client; Toyo Tires. Temperatures at night were around 20F degrees x_x'

Canon Gear:

2 Canon C200s - NDs definitely came in handy
1 Extended Monitor Cable
2 BP-A60 Batteries
2 BP-A30 Batteries - Last surprisingly longer than I expected
2 Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 L II IS - Goto Lens
1 Canon 16-35mm f/2.8 L II - Primary Wide Lens
1 Canon 400mm f/2.8 L II IS - Epic shots but mobility is a big issue
1 Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 L II - Used once
1 Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 - AF is not as fast as native canon lenses. Went with the 16-35mm instead

All lenses had polarizers while shooting during the day

Attached mics:
2 Sennheiser MKH 416 - Just amazing
1 Sennheiser G3 Lav Kit - No complaints

Media:
2 SanDisk 128 GB Extreme Pro
1 San Disk 64 GB Extreme Pro

Shot all 4K 60p MP4

Nice work.
- were you happy with the AF with the 400mm?
- did you use AF for those handheld standing interviews?
- what drone is that?

Thanks!

-AF was perfect with the 400mm. Even at 2.8. I believe I was at 500 iso and 4 stop ND.
-AF was with the interviews 16-35mm and 70-200mm (2 angles)
-DJI Inspire 2 with X5R
