But what can you expect, use a mount for which MFT lenses are impossible to be used and for which the L lenses are impossible to be used on MFT.
Unless I missed it, it looks like $99 just to rent the camera for a week. I might take advantage of it if a simple lens was included. However, I have no compatible lenses.
What lenses do you own ? Sony E mount ? Nikon Z lenses ? Canon R mount lenses ?
All I have are Panasonic MFT lenses, so nothing that will fit the S1H.
Are you disparaging their desperation?Looks like Panasonic is getting desparate...
Frankly, I feel they left their MFT customer base in the cold by introducing a new line that has no transition capability whatsoever with their MFT customer base. Are you disparaging their desperation?
It's a nice camera but overpriced without any form of Raw.
The company has been working with Atomos for a similar type of arrangement as Nikon with its Z6 and Z7. It's supposed to come out in early 2020 but no date has been offered or set. The Panny/Atomos announcement was last September. It took almost a year between the announcement and the actual release for Nikon/Atomos.
...try to make the SUV do well on a racetrack....
Whatever they did, the camera is, obviously, not selling well and there is a number of steps Panasonic can take to address the situation. Mo' bettah lenses, AI aided auto focus, internal/external Raw, pricing discounts ought to be all in play.
IMO, they overshot their target market, creating very little product differentiation and remaining stubborn - although that can be part of the contractual agreement with Sony - on pricing. To me, this one week rental is a pretty feeble attempt to market the model. Potential customers know what it is but they're not swayed.
As to MFT, it's great for BiF.
About the MFT line, I think the FF and MFT are on different time tables. So while the MFT folks are feeling left out, who is to say that the next round of cameras won't be awesome? The windowed frame with adapter might have been a nice gesture but I do not think many MFT shooters would have taken to it. Just my opinion.
