rumours

Are there new rumours/news/facts about a possible successor of the HVX200 (with comparable form factor)??? What about the 32 Gb card?

I just bought a 16gb p2 for 600 shipped overnighter, brand new card too

I think that was a sweet deal, just what I was waiting for

some guy in ebay he had a buy it now for the card at 750, I contacted him and asked him if the price was negotiable, he said give me 600 for it right now, tow seconds later I paypal the money, card was in my hand the next day, I was surprized because the card was not even opened, it was brand new, I think I got a pretty good deal

hehehhee thats the first thing I though but after reviewing the guy its just not posible, the dude is a powerseller and owns a production company so I doubt it but hey you never know

the EX is a different class of camera. its a step up from an HVX. It better have more performance.

I will say this, the 1/2chip idea is a good one. BUT, if they made a Fixed lens, singel CCD 2/3 chip...... I would so be on that like a fly on sugar..... cause you can get reasonable low light even if the pixels in a full raster 1920x1080, off a 2/3 chip. i mean the HPX3000 is about as fast as a HVX200, maybe a bit faster. I think the EX's lowlight is Miraculous.... IT just seems to sort of be magical in how it can capture so much light.

Sony is finally learning how to apply Mojo........

well, in 80% of cases, the rolling shutter wont be an issue. And in thoes 80% neither will Long GOP.

If im shooting a narritive film, dialogue, some dolley shots, nothing crazy, the R'llin Shutter and Long Gop are Non issues. If in shooting a frenetic music video with stobes, or a Red carpet event, or a wedding with a photog, then the rolling shutter/longGOP may be an issue.

but i think the high resolution, and low light FAR out weigh the negatives of LONG gop and rolling shutter.

And another thing, for a narritive shoot, i'd take EX with SGpro, and for music videos with lotsof crazy movmeent, or red carpet stuff, i'd take the HVX with SGpro.... different tool.

what if your movie has a scene with strobes, or a frantic action, i guess then you cant use it but will have to resort to the HVX or something else, then you gotta deal with matching the two.

On a movie, you'd just rent for a day if you had a specialty sequence. Matching HD footage is a lot easier than SD.
