Robin the Spy! Something Fowl is afoot.

Glad you made it, and looking forward to seeing your film ... I'm especially looking forward to hearing Leo's score! Wonder how many others he scored this time too?

Thanks, Norm. Leo did a great job. He didn't have a lot of time but he definitely made the most of it.

I have a lot to learn and this project was a great learning experience.
My first film with real actors. :)

All my previous films were filmed with just a few friends and a couple of hours to kill. I don't expect to run with the top dogs, but I'm happy to see improvements from film to film.

That guy's got serious chops! Another composer I want to work with eventually.

And that, my friend, is what it's all about. Improving your craft.

Hey Norm, thanks for remember my works...besides Robin the Spy I scored No Midle Ground by George, but this second one I had even less time...only one day and some hours:huh:...I´ve made my best in both having a very limited time and there will be updates later after fest as i have the time!!!
Robin the Spy was a challenge because I needed to learn how to compose Jazz in a few days...I had never composed Jazz before, so, I looked for material, listened to some music and called a friend to come to my studio to give me some tips...the funny thing is that when he first heard whant I had already composed he asked me, "why did you call me???You are going great", I couldn believe he was serious and I thank him for the valuable jazz tips:)!!!

Leo, composed exactly the kind of music that I had in mind, he must be a mind reader!

Leo, when you finish the composition I would love to use it in the slightly longer edit. You did such a great job with the time that you had.

Cheers,

Mike

The script was written by John LaBonney, he posted a few scripts for Spyfest and they were snatched up quickly.

The milk bit was an improve.

There was a problem with the download but I've read that it has been resolved.

Cheers,

Mike

It's not a bad film overall although I think you should have done color correction to give it a more cinnematic look. The stock visual is rather flat. Try crushing the blacks and give it more of a color tint, I think it'll look much better.

I did do CC, it's not stock footage. I just didn't go as far as some may have liked I guess. :)

Sorry about that Leo, the editing changed a bit since the office scene had to be cut out.

If you want to complete the track for the finished edit I will be more than happy to send you a copy when it is finished.

Thanks again.

Cheers,

BTW, Keep the comments coming! I'm here to learn.

Standard Disclaimer: I've yet to see a bad film so far in this fest. Congratulations to every film maker, everyone did a great job. All my comments and criticisms are meant to be constructive and helpful and in no way am I trying to take anything away from what you accomplished.

Good: Opening scene was very funny, enjoyed your jab at the having to use Robin name rule. Enjoyed the ending. Soundtrack fit the film nicely

Not as Good: The lead actor was maybe a little too over the top. Didn't find him near as funny as the first two actors. The graph overlay was a little distracting to look at when the lady is giving the instructions.

Thanks for that! I really appreciate it.

I tried to go for a certain look with the female gadget agent and didn't really pull it off. I'm going to fix that in my next edit.

Thanks again!

Mike
