RIP dvxuser Matt Grunau.

Sad news indeed. One of the DVXUsers I never really interacted with but a death among us affects us all. My condolences to his family and friends.
 
I'm a new user and after reading this, I really wish I had met/interacted with Matt. Its great to see that this forum has some family type of atmosphere.

This is so true. The guy didn't even know me from a can of paint, I was fairly a new DVXer, but he was so enthusiastic about helping me with some FX. I wish I got to meet him and talked with him some more.

Never thought I'd be feeling this way over a guy I barely knew on an internet message board. But like Hudson said, this site is much more than an internet message board. Very sad situation.

I remember Matt use to always talk about his Son, matter of fact, during the time he was helping me, his son was being borne....man this is so heartbreaking.

I also did not know Matt, but from reading this thread, I know he was someone I wish I knew. My heart goes out to his family.

Just now seeing this. Some days it just doesn't pay to pop in to see what's new. Prayers for his family and those who knew him better. Our paths crossed only occasionally on here and FB, but I always enjoyed it when they did.
 
Wow, this is tragic. Some of my fondest memories from this forum are my interactions with Matt. Really sad to see this, it's something that will be burned into my memory.

Very sad news. I talked to matt once when I was working on a film with Chad Callaghan that ending up not happening, but he seemed like a great guy and was ready to give the film 100%. Wish it would have happened. R.I.P
 
What did he die of? Sorry if it's been mentioned... I read the first 3 pages and found nothing about it...
 
EDV - no one is saying from the family that I know of. Let's just say life got the worst of him.
 
Oh my gosh. I havent been on here in quite some time but logged on and found this. Truly sad, Matt and I used to collaborate quite a bit on here with photoshop/after effects topics. Prayers sent towards his family, esp his son. RIP buddy...

I just saw this today. Heartbreaking. I've seen him around here for a very long time. And someone mentioned earlier, that this is kinda a family. Few have met in person, but we know each other through here and through facebook and emails. And any loss is a loss to a family.

Rest in peace, mate. Sorry I didn't catch wind of this till now. But the internet is eternal. You'll live on as 1s and 0s.
