Hi everyone!

I noticed this weird red spots on my FS700 footage. See images bellow.

Has anyone had the same issue? Can you help me with that? The official Sony service in my country has no solution but to change the sensor which is crazy expensive.

Thanks for your help.

Going to need a ton more information on how you are shooting. Is this directly into the camera? External recorder? If external, how are you recording? RAW? ProRes? More info please.

This is straight from the camera. I only graded it so it is more visible.

Otherwise I tried to use different lenses but all with the Metabones adapter. Not used a native lens yet.

The service said that It's something on the sensor. Laser damage they say. Which is possible since I recently filmed something with lasers.

I've read that it could also be dust or spots on the glass in front of the sensor. Did you see a case like this before?

If you only are seeing this at very closed aperture levels like f16 and smaller then you will actually be beginning to bring the sensor into focus. I haven't seen this on an FS700 but have seen it on EX1, EX3 models where anything smaller than f8 would start to reveal these pink spots, smears. It turned out to be actual dirt on the sensor behind the low pass filter. Sadly almost impossible to clean unless you have specialized equipment to do the job. I know one tech who can do the job and he says you need a microscopically small specialist vacuum unit to do it. Otherwise yes it's replace the whole sensor unit. How much for an FS700 I don't know but here in Australia for an FS7 it is about AU$3,200 plus labor.

Thanks. I've heard that also. The dirt behind the low pass filter thing. But like you said it's not an easy fix. The service in my country won't even consider it. Since it's so delicate and they don't have the gear. Does anybody have a recommendation for a pro service somewhere in Europe?

I had the same problem with dirt behind the low pass filter. Sony wanted more than £2000 to fix it. I ended up selling my FS700 for spares and repairs on eBay and bought another second hand one for £1900.
