:crybaby: film people out there over here.. brrrrrrrrrrp.. it's frightening.. i hate film people, film school and so on.. :) and me knows what i'm talking about.. :) :)

i want the oakley design.. i wouldn't say back because it is there.. but put your own personal mark there as far as you can.. don't give up.. your design is your vision.. and made you the 606th world's richest man.. and it wasn't the xix century design who did it..

edit
hey guys, btw, what's your problem with the robby look?..

Both look really good. I'd love to see a render without the cage, for shoulder mount work. Just the RED-One, the LCD flipped open, a shoulder pad, battery, and a Nikon lens. That's essentially the bare-bones package that a lot of us will start off using.

Love the surface texture!

It looks like there may be an LCD door on the left side of the camera. That wasn't in some of the earlier renderings. Could be wishful thinking.

yup, that's it!

i mean, the 90%/95% surface texture.. not the 5% cine-style-black of the rods etc

edit
it seems the matte vs gloss photo paper.. matte rocks..

That's the Optical RAW port. That bit can be exchanged for the REDFLASH onboard recording device.

Gee, this latest render of the cam setup makes the one on the RED homepage look pretty damn ugly. It looked attractive a while ago. Now, ugly. Kinda like the wife in that respect.

Just kidding sweetheart.

There is no onboard LCD to my knowledge.

I think semantics are getting in the way here. There is a "Flex mounted high resolution LCD" included in the basic RED One camera package, but its not technically "onboard". It can be mounted anywhere on the camera or cage where there is a hardpoint to mount it. It can't be just "flipped open" like jrv3004 stated.

Will there be a "Flip" option for those who want to shoot upside down, which should be no problem since the red rail/cage looks like it would easily allow accessories to mounted on the top rail. And the LCD/EVF can be mounted anywhere you like.

The original model 9 months ago showed a flip LCD on the left side... but remember, "things change around here" was spoken from day one. 9 months ago there was no 720P EVF and no REDCODE!

Perhaps the drive & battery can be mounted up there too to keep them out of the way of the rear display when the rig is tripod mounted.

Goodness, that caused a stir! I meant, of course, that I'd like to see a render with the included monitor (if any) attached to the body. An LCD that can be mounted anywhere is certainly better than a flip LCD (as long as it's a sturdy attachment!).

Wow, 9 months ago there was no REDCODE. That's probably the most important part of the equation!!! Amazing how much progress has been made this past year. Keep up the good work!

absolutely, there was a photo awhile ago that made it into hi def magazine where the battery was tucked up top... keeps things all together, specially when your not using a cage/rail system.

Wow, that's got to be getting close. The design has become much more sophisticated with multiple radius castings as opposed to machined parts. The matt finish is dead right. Can we have it now please?

I like it to look like no other camera. Keep design functional and unlike other cameras. Thanks for including us in development of this extraordinary camera.

its interesting watching the design develop.. I am pretty sure it would not have looked as good as it does now and as functional as it does now without the input from all you guys.. The feedback im sure has been worth all the trials and tribulations of including the public in the process.. and I commend Jim for taking the non-standard approach to not only design, but development.

Please Jim, add the flip screen back on the left side. For us run and gun crowd, we'd much rather flip a screen open than take it out and mount it every time we pull the camera out of our backpack and put it on our tripod. I also don't see why there can't be a compromise here. Why can't the screen come on the side of the camera and be easily unmounted and placed wherever you want.

I still believe though, most of us who shoot video prefer a flip screen where it is on most cameras. Even Sony put the monitor back on the side in its latest camera. I'd still like to see a render of RED in its smallest form on a tripod when you have some time. Thanks. I like the new renders so far.
