Some people actually thought the RED ONE was going to be silver.. obviously that was just a prototype so here is a black Version Jim sent over:

Very nice. Still beautiful in black.

EDIT:
You know when I first saw this camera I was blown away by it, but the more and more I see it the more I'm amazed with it's design. It really is a piece of art.

I like it better in black, also.

It's really an innovative design. I love seeing an entrepreneurial company shake up the status quo.

i actually thought it looked cool in silver...is this optional the color, or is this it?
the cage looks like plastic now...anyway

Since RED One is able to use so many kinds of lenses, almost all of which are black, a black color for the camera makes great sense. I liked the silver look, and it helped define the prototype image outline, but the black camera seriously rocks. On many sets, and in multiple shooting genres, an all-black camera system blends well, and even creates a stealth presence.

I would prefer an even more inconspicuous design. I plan to use the cam in documentaries and it´s not helpful and discrete at all when you walk around with a kind of raygun. Anyway an enticing cam.

Hey guys, I just got back from NAB in Vegas. I think black looks best but I suppose I'm a little biased being a spacecraft designer alumni. To save us all some time speculating what the camera looks like in different colors I took it upon myself to exercise my mediocre photoshop skills and see what the camera looks like in a number of colors....

Why not a pink version? ;)

Yeah Joe, I agree. I like the concept, but I would like it toned down a little. Not all the way, but just enough to make it somewhat vaguely 'normal' in a cool way. I just worry a bit whether people might think that I bought my camera from the toy section of Tesco (or Wal Mart if you want a US equivilent).

Simon, I'm color blind so here's my best guess as to what Pink would look like :)

I would personally prefer a matt black finnish.
If we are talking dream camera I would like it to be coated in a dense rubberised coating so that it would not scratch and would not reflect as much light or sound and would be insulated.
Come to think of it like an iPod jacket only more rugged. It could then be replaced.
Although I prefer a factory rubberised finnish if it could take the lifetime of knocks.
