Purely two hand-held rig, like the Captain Stubling

I've been shooting with the b-hague camframe for the first time today and that thing is perfect, I love it. Almost no camera shake at 24mm. The Shoot35 follow focus and tripod plates and rods should arrive this Monday, then I can build my perfect rig. Thanks to Martti again for providing me with all these links.

Did I already mention that I love my GH1?

Looks very promising, would love to purchase this together with your D focus... will contact you on Vimeo.

HAs anyone tried to put a rr mattebox on the captain stubling, I understand it will be front heavy but can it be placed with the rods that come with the CS? any info would be greatly appreciated.

this has a lot of potential!
however, i finally figured out why the grips are rotated to such a weird angle....its not because they're trying to shoot the sky, but because the grips are placed behind the camera and have to be tilted forward so that they appear to reach closer to the FF.
this simply won't work though, unless you're holding the camera down at the ground. if you can figure a way to position the handles forward, then we can have them rotated at a proper angle that is natural for human arms.

You mean like this?

yes martti. your RR rig works well and shows exactly what i'm talking about.

another variation that i think works well is to place the left handle just a bit further out from the camera so that is rests on top of your left wrist, freeing up the hand entirely to grip the FF.

now we're talkin! =)
could those rods could run longer out the back to attach a shoulder pad?

Thanks a lot for this info Martti ! Very informative and full of good links which show you did a lot of research. I am asking myself if there is a follow focus solution for GH1 with pancake and handheld steadicam.....
