Prime lens recomendations for 600D

I know this has probably been asked a thousand times but I have to ask again! Im after good primes, solely for video and to go on my 600D. Nothinging smaller than f1.8 if possible and Im assuming that anything 1.2 or bigger is out of my budget (about £400-£500 per lens). I have the cheap Canon 50mm f1.8 but will probably grab the f1.4 version in a while. Ideally Im looking for shorter lenses. Anything from about 10mm up to the 50mm that I have and will be getting. I dont need to go over the 50mm mark really, especially with the 600D's 3X zoom function. I shoot in low light a fair amount so a larger aperture is pretty important.

Hopefully thats enough information for people to work with?!

Just my opinion, but there is a huge difference between a digital zoom function, an an actual lens delivering the same focal length.

No, I totally agree, what I meant by that was that they are less important to me for now than the shorter primes. I will get longer focal lengths eventually but I have to prioritize my budget and that means getting what I need first, which are the shorter focal lengths.

If I were you I would check out the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 and 50mm f/1.4.

If you want to go for a really wide fast prime there is also the Sigma 20mm f/1.8. It's a little soft but there is no other EF mount lens available with an aperture that fast at that focal length, espescially in the same price range. The 24mm f/1.4L trades some width for speed, and offers much better IQ, but costs many times more.

Yeah I dont think I can afford the L and still get other lenses as quickly as I would like. Ill check out the 30mm though, thanks!

Check out the samyangs!
I have the 35mm 1.4 and realy love it and I see good reviews about the 85mm 1.4 as well...
They dont offer AF (useless for video anyway) but they have the BEST manual focus ring you can find (priceless for video).
Another big plus is that they are FULL FRAME lenses so they can also work on a 5D...

Yashica ML-series. 21mm, 24mm, 28mm, 35mm, 50mm. Nice, vintage glass... and you can find some bargains on ebay.

I went mostly vintage myself (leitz glass from the 60s and 70s); if I had to start again today I think I'd go for:

tokina 11-16 f/2.8
canon 24mm f/2.8 (or tamron 17-50 f/2.8 non-VC)
leitz 35mm f/2.8 or samyang 35mm f/1.4
leitz 50mm f/1.4 (or f/2.0 if budget doesn't allow), or stick to the canon 50mm f/1.8 as I wait for samyang to release a 50mm lens

the beauty of the samyangs is that they don't seem to be designed with just sharpness in mind, but bokeh too: check these tests of the 85mm f/1.8:

the bad news is: some reviews of the samyang 35mm came out recently, and it seems this one is not that nice in terms of bokeh:

not that the canon 35mm f/1.4L is amazing anyway...

and, by the way: I hardly ever shoot faster than f/2.8 on APS-C; the ultra-shallow DoF look got old on me already
and faster is not always better, unless you need that additional speed: my Leitz Elmarit-R 35mm f/2.8 is significantly sharper than its faster brother, the Leitz Summicron-R f/2.0
