I am guessing I am one of VERY few editing on PP CS4 on a Mac... But I am wondering if this will soon change with the release of Snow Leopard (rumored release date Fri Aug 28th). I am anxious to see what kind of performance boost the 64 bit operating system will give to Premiere, especially dealing with AVCHD.
Quote from Adobe's website: "Gain up to 227% performance improvement when you use Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 and After Effects CS4 on 64-bit systems."
It should be "Edius" or "Edius Neo". Edius Broadcast was a separate version in earlier releases. There was Edius Pro and Edius Broadcast. They merged both into Edius 5 which is now pro and broadcast. Some users may be using Edius Pro 4.
Just sayin'.
I also loved Vegas for audio back before it became an NLE. I can't get the hang of it for video.
I remember reading when PP CS4 came out on Mac that is wasn't 64bit. PP CS4 is 64bit on the windows side only, so I don't think you'll really see a major speed increase.
I edit on Avid Mediacomposer. Just trying to figure out which looks better: DNxHD or DVCProHD. Wondering if there is a way to transcode into Sonys SxS format, which is also supported by Avid.
I use FCS2, but if they don't start supporting AVCHD like CS4 does (let alone Blu-Ray) I may soon switch. I want to check out Bridge, as I need serious help with file management.
